Interesting New Long Covid Research and how women and men may be affected differently https://lnkd.in/grQJtZ2w A recent study, conducted in Germany, highlights the ongoing public health challenge of post-COVID syndrome (Long Covid), investigating how it affects people's participation in daily life activities and overall rehabilitation needs. As found in many other studies, fatigue was the most common symptom reported. An interesting finding was that although both sexes reported similar symptom intensity, there was a difference in how this impacted them: Women: reported more movement restrictions, muscular problems, and daily pain. Men: reported more respiratory issues and heart palpitations. These insights emphasize the importance of personalised rehabilitation approaches to address each individual person's specific needs. At Vitality360 we specialise in providing bespoke programmes for people with fatigue and pain. I saw this and it reminded me of a conversation I had with a client (who has #fatigue) yesterday. She was berating herself for her 'all or nothing' thinking. How many times do we think we 'should' do more (exercise, relaxation, work, chores etc.)? If we don't DO that 30 minute walk, say, what's the point in walking at all? However, this approach had kept her quite 'static' in all that she did (or didn't do). Perhaps starting small, with realistic expectations, we can be consistent and achieve more in the long run? #fatiguemanagement #painmanagement #babysteps

At Vitality360, we know that finding purpose and meaning in daily life can be a key part of the rehabilitation journey. A recent Guardian article by Catherine Saunders highlights this beautifully. Catherine shares her experience with ME/CFS, where she was bedbound for nearly five years. Her turning point was a small, yet profound gesture—her mother giving her a potted plant to nurture. This simple act rekindled her love for gardening and gradually helped her rebuild her life, one small step at a time. Stories like Catherine’s resonate with the work we do at Vitality360— finding creative ways to support our clients to do activities which enable them to find purpose and joy. https://lnkd.in/eBp_QutJ If you want to find out more about our programmes, please have a look at our website or book a 15 minute call: vitality360.co.uk #rehabilitation #mecfs #fatigue
