ISH 2025 has made one thing clear: we talk a big game about Net Zero, but without real innovation and collaboration, we’re nowhere near the finish line. Another year, another wave of heat pump manufacturers showcasing their latest models. Yet, for all the excitement, the fundamental challenges remain. If we’re serious about Net Zero, we need to cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters: training, education, and controls. No other area offers a greater opportunity for real progress. But let’s be honest—ego-driven battles, self-importance, and personal agendas still plague our industry. The endless debates on social media won’t solve the crisis we face, locally or globally. Collaboration is the only way forward. There’s no shortage of passion in the heating industry. ISH 2025 showcased an overwhelming number of heat pump manufacturers, each presenting their vision of the future. But while enthusiasm is high, the real breakthroughs we need are still missing. Where is the heat pump that can achieve 600% efficiency without requiring a full heating system redesign? Where is the unit that can provide instant hot water with efficiency comparable to a gas combi boiler? Where is the small, discreet heat pump that doesn’t ruin the aesthetics of a well-designed home? For the small percentage of properties that are genuinely heat-pump-ready—and where building regulations even permit their installation—these challenges remain unanswered. ISH 2025 has shown us how much progress we still need to make. The industry has the knowledge, the talent, and the passion—but without meaningful innovation and real collaboration, we’ll keep falling short. The journey to Net Zero isn’t just about technology. It’s about leadership, education, and the willingness to change. So, the question is: are we ready to do what it takes? #ISH2025 #NetZero #SustainableHeating #HeatPumps #Innovation #Collaboration #Salus Allen Hart Dean Jepson
