Last week in our Orwell office, we decided to embrace Autumn and get into the Halloween spirit. We had some delicious local food from The Chequers of Orwell and enjoyed some lunchtime table top games. Bringing the team together is hugely important to us as we work in a hybrid environment. On Saturday 14th September, our Payroll Manager Carrie-Anne Davey took part in the Thames Path 50KM challenge walking from Putney Bridge to Runnymede. Carrie-Anne walked for the benefit of the Arthur Rank Hospice in memory of her Stepfather. The Arthur Rank Hospice provides support to people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting conditions and for those who need end-of-life care. The care they provide is outstanding, supporting the families as much as caring for the patient. The challenge saw Carrie-Anne walk 52.7KM (32.75 miles) in 11.5 hours, walking over 75,000 steps!. “It was incredibly tough, mentally and physically walking for that long. My feet are extremely sore and are now covered in blisters . The last kilometre was especially tough as it seemed to go on forever in the dark. The sense of achievement walking through the finish line was immense!” – Carrie-Anne Davey Carrie-Anne was supported by all of her colleagues here at Volac and our charity, the Betty Lawes Foundation. https://lnkd.in/dM-qVPtt #charity #congratulations #thamespathchallenge
