We are still over the moon from last night’s win! 🥳🏆 Haven't heard the news? We were crowned the Most Improved Council in the UK at the Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards! This is a massive achievement that reflects the incredible progress our borough has made in recent years. Huge thanks to our dedicated staff, elected members, and partners – you made this possible! 👏 A key driver of this success has been the expansion of digital services. By making council services more accessible online, we've improved access and outcomes for our residents. This is just the beginning, and we're excited to continue building a brighter future for our borough. 🚀 🌟 #ProudToBeWalsall #LGCAwards #MostImprovedCouncil #WinsForWalsall

Great to meet Mike Beese this morning down at Genex UK in Bloxwich, a firm with 40+ years experience in engineering for a diverse client range. A business with real ambition who are already working with Oxford Innovation, through the Walsall High-Growth Programme 🤝 Really useful insight into the business but also plenty to go at in terms of working together - one of those meetings you don’t want to end… hence running over slightly! #Walsall based SME? Want to know more about how my team provides operational business support? Drop me a DM or email 📧 business@walsall.gov.uk

We're delighted to see West Midlands Railway's new Class 730 trains rolling out across the region. The new trains will increase passenger capacity by 40% per train with more standing room for shorter journeys. Perfect for those commuting across the region. With work starting in Walsall Town Centre to improve the arrival experience for people travelling to and from Walsall by train, we really welcome this investment by West Midlands Railway which will improve journeys for commuters. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eTgGvn9K #Walsall #WestMidlandsRailway

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the first-ever Kids In Communication (KIC) Youth Conference! 🎉 200 young people in Walsall headed to Ormiston and Shelfield Community Academy to voice their ideas and concerns to local, regional and national leaders and change makers. In the afternoon, the Leader of Walsall Council, Councillor Garry Perry and Councillor Stacie Elson, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services took part in a youth debate. Young people posed their questions on pressing topics such community safety and knife crime, the cost-of-living crisis, homelessness, mental health, education, and employment opportunities. Thanks for having us! 😊
