At the recent 2023 PPA Independent Publisher Awards we had the honour of winning the much-coveted ‘Cover of the Year’ Award, for our invigorating April/May issue! The PPA Judging Board commented ‘there was one standout winner [among the 10 nominees] here, a brand that really knows its market with a very clear strategy, excellently executed.’ When choosing the cover image, Wanderlust Travel Media Editor in Chief Georgios Kipouros pondered: ‘Our April/May issue had to serve a dual purpose: first to highlight our comprehensive travel planner for reader-favourite Costa Rica, and then to introduce our first ever Travel Green List, celebrating champions of sustainability in tourism worldwide. What better way to combine the two than transporting our readers to the pristine Costa Rican rainforest, where they can experience one of nature's most beautiful creatures, the toucan? Costa Rica, widely regarded as a pioneer in developing sustainable tourism paradigms, is fortunate to have 6 toucan species and even better, most are quite easy to spot!’ Visit Costa Rica World Travel Market (WTM) London
