Leandro Pecchia: I am pleased to announce the launching of the ABSPIeH bulletin. This section aims at sharing with our friends the latest advancements we humbly made in the lab and the vibrant daily discussion going on daily. I would love to open the lab to you all but, unfortunately, we are limited in doing so by space, budget and time constrains. However, limits is what has been pushing human being to do more and better. We hope this bulleting can be an opportunity to start sharing ideas, which I hope we can continue in person here, or wherever the life will give us the opportunity to meet. Looking forward to receive your inputs, comments and contributions! Rossana Castaldo, PhD Luis Montesinos Davide Piaggio Kallirroi Stavrianou Iyabosola Busola Oronti federica ceresa

ABSPIE Lab vision is to design, develop and promote eHealth solutions to solve health problems and meet user real needs!
About us
The main focus of the lab is the traslation of advanced biomedical signal processing, machine learning and eHealth to clinical settings aiming to face emerging problems of health and wellbeing, especially in later life. Health problems, particularly in the elderly, depend on complex and dynamic interactions between several intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Advanced technologies of eHealth integrated with techniques of machine learning and advanced biomedical signal processing can respond to, amongst others, the increasing burden of chronic disease, ensuing disabilities and the complexity of co-morbidities. In so doing they contribute to the sustainability of health and care systems. The vision of the lab is to develop, validate, promote and translate sustainable solutions to face emerging challenges of later life, including, but not limited to, accidental falls, cardiovascular events, cognitive impairment, frailty and social exclusion. The facilities of the lab include systems for powerful remote elaborations, also in real time, and medical devices, also wearable, for monitoring biomedical signals (including ECG, EEG, EMG, EOG) and physiological parameters (including SpO2, body temperature, breathing, galvanic skin response, body acceleration/velocity etc). The lab is equipped to acquire, process and assess the majority of biomedical signals, including ECG, EEG, EOG, EMG, GSR, T, NiBP, and accelerometers, also using wearable and wireless devices for continuous long time acquisitions (i.e. 24h for 2 weeks).
