Today marked the third and final day of the Climate First roadshow, but by no means was it any less thrilling. Day 3 provided invaluable opportunities to connect with influential players like Toshiba, Archetype Ventures Inc., ITOCHU Corporation and dentsu. Although it has come to an end, it has been a great opportunity to showcase WASE to likeminded people and create new relationships. We can’t wait to see what the future holds. This is only the beginning. 💐
About us
Globally, 80% of wastewater is discharged untreated into the environment. At the same time, we generate 1.6 billion tonnes of food waste per year. We are unlocking the power of waste to make it the fuel of the future. We are working with manufacturers to turn their unavoidable waste into bioenergy, water for reuse and agricultural inputs.

Insights from WEFTEC 2024 🧠 Earlier this week Dr. Thomas Fudge & David White travelled to New Orleans to represent WASE at Weftec 2024. This event brought together a diverse group of people who all have one thing in common – a passion for water. Thank you to everyone that came to speak to us on our stall, and all the staff for running the event. A special thank you to Imagine H2O for inviting us. Check out David's key takeaways and learning points from the event below. #WEFTEC2024
What have I learned from 3 days at WEFTEC 2024? 1. Water scarcity is a growing challenge around the globe and technologies to prevent water loss and network leakage will play a major role in ensuring that drinking water is available for people across the globe. Some city's lose as much as 50% of their clean water through their network! Satellites that can spot leaks under ground such as ASTERRA and robots that can roam a city’s water network reporting on location of leaks are brilliant ideas for helping populous urban areas solve the problem of transportation losses. 2. ‘Forever chemicals’ called PFAS are terrifying! They are human made chemicals that are almost impossible to remove from the watercourse once entered and PFAS are regularly found in food, drinking water and now found in nearly 80% of humans! There are some really cool technologies that are available to remove PFAS now such as Aquagga Inc. and Gradiant, proactively controlling and removing these chemicals is critical for longevity of healthy 'forever-chemical' free drinking water. 3. Nature offers some incredible solutions for solving some of our biggest challenges associated with energy, fuels and waste processing including the power of worms (see BioFiltro's awesome solution), electrically active bacteria at WASE and companies are even taking advantage of algae as a tool for low cost and high impact water treatment such as Gross-Wen Technologies The breadth of innovation across the water ecosystem is incredible. Municipal water treatment plants are slowly adopting new technologies, but the pace of change needs to increase if we are to save water, reduce pollution and capture the value in our waste streams. Tools such as generative AI will help accelerate fault finding, system optimisation and decision making. Innovation networks such as Imagine H2O, help foster collaboration and knowledge exchange and accelerate the pace of change! The old saying 'reduce, re-use, recycle' has never been as relevant as it is now. This process applies as much to our water cycle as it does to everything else humans create and use. This is a helpful conclusion and validation for the innovation that we have developed at WASE. We help organic rich waste producers reduce the amount of high strength waste going to sewer, enabling them to re-use cleaned water on site and generate green biogas offering a carbon neutral energy source for production processes.... Thank you New Orleans for a wonderful week!! #WEFTEC2024
