Despite the rainy weather, our conference wrapped up on a high note with an insightful technical tour of the Jourdain project for indirect potable reuse. A huge thank you to VENDEE EAU and Veolia for hosting Water Reuse Europe delegates for this technical visit and giving us the opportunity to discover one of Europe’s flagship projects on indirect potable reuse. Many thanks to all our speakers for their excellent presentations, which covered the full spectrum of water reuse applications and greatly showcased the latest advancements in the sector. The final session of our conference is on 'Industrial Water Reuse' included a Keynote from Angela Lorena Pinzón Pardo, European Marketing Manager / Global Sustainability Network leader, Nalco Water, An Ecolab Company, The Netherlands and presentations by Niclas P. from EnviroChemie GmbH, on 'Effects of pretreatment on membrane performance in industrial wastewater reuse & recycling' and Maëlle Fisselier, Water and Environment Engineer, Cooperl, France on 'Water reuse in the French food industry; opportunities and limits'. The next session is on 'Water Reuse for Potable Applications' and started with a Keynote from Mihaela Stefan, Senior Research Scientist, Trojan Technologies, Canada on 'The journey of UV/Chlorine AOP from fundamental science to successful full-scale implementation in IPR projects in California'. Day 1 of our conference came to a close with a Keynote by Rémi Declercq, Ecofilae, France on 'Boosting the uptake of innovative solutions in the context of water and circular economy', followed by presentations by Dirk Herold, Xylem, Germany on 'Activated Sludge Dynamic Filter – A new process for direct activated sludge filtration and production of high-quality effluent'; Baptiste Mathon, Treewater, France on 'Remediation processes of PFAS in industrial effluents with advanced reduction and electrooxidation'; and Maria Lousada Ferreira, KWR Water Research Institute, The Netherlands on 'Water reuse as resilience tool against climate change- KWR’s contribution'.
