Kicking off this year’s programme, the team visited Bauer Media Group at The Lantern to immerse themselves in the commercial and editorial world of audio and publishing. 🤔 So, marketing budgets have frozen. Now what? This week the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) released its Q3 2024 Bellwether report, which revealed that, after 13 consecutive quarters of growth, marketing budgets have hit a pause in Q3. Our Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Elliott Millard, says that the biggest tension is between the positivity of an Institute for Fiscal Studies report – the UK back in growth and likely interest rate cuts – with the negativity that marketing budgets failed to grow for the first time in three and half years amid decaying industry sentiment.
