🌍 ❤️ International Allyship Day ❤️ 🌎   At Academy, we're committed to fostering, promoting and celebrating a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Today, on International Allyship Day, we take a moment to reflect on the power of allyship. Recently, the world has been following the current tragedy and hate around the UK with upset and anger. As of this week, we have also seen the best examples of allyship: thousands of people coming together in their communities to join anti-racist gatherings to support those communities who are facing targeted violence and hate for their race, religion, ethnicity and immigration status. This positive protest sends a strong message of community, love, support and -of course- allyship to say no to racism and hate. Unity goes beyond words—it's about taking action, listening, learning, and standing in solidarity with those who face discrimination and inequality. How Can We Be Better Allies? 1️⃣ Educate Ourselves: Understand the challenges faced by underrepresented groups and seek out resources to learn more. 2️⃣ Take Action: Whether it's in the workplace or in our communities, let's actively stand up against injustice and support those who need it. 3️⃣ Reflect: Acknowledge our own privileges and biases, and consider how we can use them to support others. 🚀 Launch Day 🚀   Yesterday, at the SIS Ltd offices, we launched a cohort in collaboration with our newest partner SIS Ltd; 12 fantastic and high potential individuals have begun their new careers as Academy Software Engineers, Academy Software QAs and Academy Business Analysts. No prior experience or qualifications are required; we've screened ‘in’ together on potential, selecting the top 5% of candidates following our rigorous and scientific selection process. Over the next 15 weeks, the cohort will begin an immersive and innovative learning program, upskilling in software engineering, data, cloud technologies, and leadership. We’ll be tracking the cohort's progress and reporting back the impact they will undoubtedly make as they integrate into the SIS tech teams.
