Empowering Women, Not Shaming Them I recently came across a post by the inspiring Nadiya Hussain, which really struck a chord with me. Nadiya, the beloved TV presenter and Great British Bake Off winner, shared a troubling experience on Instagram. She received an email from a local women’s gym that was anything but supportive. The email guilt-shamed her for enjoying a few ice creams over the summer, suggesting she had probably gained weight and should join their gym. Nadiya’s response was spot on: "There is no need to shame women to get them to go through your door. Shaming women so you can benefit financially is just the worst thing ever... We should be empowering women, not taking them down." This kind of marketing is disappointing, especially as we move out of the summer season. It’s a reminder that we should shift the focus away from body shaming and instead celebrate women's strength, not based on how they look, but how they feel. At my club, we take a different approach. We believe in empowering women to feel strong, healthy, and confident—regardless of their body shape or the number on the scale. The pressure to conform to an "ideal" body type is relentless, but it’s time we embrace our natural shapes and prioritize what truly matters: how we feel. Let’s continue to support and uplift one another on our health and fitness journeys. #Empowerment #WomensHealth #StrengthInCommunity #PositiveChange
