You’d be right to think we have a number of BD powerhouses in our business. After all, relationships are at the core of what we do, and building them is what our people do best. That’s why this year’s BD Champion Award was such a highly contested one. But there was one clear, deserving winner - Luisa Victoria Namadila. A key player in our BioTalent brand, Luisa has consistently demonstrated her remarkable ability to build, nurture, and maintain relationships. Her passion, determination, and unwavering commitment to driving business development have been instrumental to our growth. Luisa’s work ethic and strategic approach have made her an invaluable part of the team, and we are incredibly proud of her achievements. It's hard to miss that today is World Mental Health Day. While world days are great for raising the profile of important topics, mental health isn't just about one day a year—it's about every day of the year. Did you know this year’s theme is Mental Health at Work? It's a reminder of how important it is to create a supportive environment where we can all thrive. We asked our Wellbeing & Engagement Committee (WEC) for their top tips on maintaining good mental health at work, and here’s what they had to say: ▪️ Take time for yourself: Whether it’s stepping outside for a quick walk or pausing for a deep breath, regular breaks help you recharge and stay balanced. ▪️ Start the conversation: Talking openly about mental health with your colleagues or manager helps break the stigma and creates a more supportive, understanding workplace. ▪️ Tap into the resources available: From coaching and therapy to meditation tools, there are plenty of ways to prioritise your mental health. Don’t wait until things get tough—these resources are here to support you anytime. ▪️ Set clear boundaries: Protect your work-life balance. Knowing when to unplug and say no is key to avoiding burnout. ▪️ Get moving: Physical activity can boost your mental well-being. At TIG, we believe mental health should always be a priority. By supporting one another and taking steps to care for ourselves, we can create a workplace where everyone feels empowered to thrive. Last night, our WomenWiseData community, championed by Kalina Tomova, collaborated with LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group)'s WINTech, spearheaded by Chloe Cope and Sarah Hepworth, and the BEING network, led by Widade Deguerre and Tamara J. Dews, MBA, to host the event Empowered Together. They were joined by expert panellists - Sanjeevan Bala, Manivannan (Mani) Janakiraman GCB.D, and Marilyn N. A. - who shared their invaluable insights. A special thanks to Triona O'Keeffe for moderating the discussion, and to Steven Fuller, Director and Founder of Race in STEM, for adding further insight to the discussion. As expected, the session was packed with insights and perspectives. This year we presented the very first Richard Skipper Award at our annual Summer Conference! This award is more than just a recognition—it’s a celebration of the values that define who we are as a business. Each year, the recipient will be carefully chosen for their exceptional embodiment of our core values, and a deep sense of care for the people and culture that make us unique. We couldn’t be prouder to honour our 2024 winner, the amazing Charlie Noble! In recent weeks, we've been highlighting individuals driving meaningful change at The IN Group, and one person we just couldn’t leave off our list is Steven Fuller. Steve founded the Race in STEM (RiS) community in 2022 with a mission to create a collaborative space, a catalyst for career opportunities, and a safe, inclusive environment where people can share experiences and ideas. Together, RiC aims to challenge the status quo and showcase the excellence of underrepresented voices in STEM, all whilst tackling the economic and professional challenges disproportionately impacting people of colour in the STEM field. What can we say about Waleed Al-sheikh? He’s the unsung hero who never finds anything too much trouble, always stepping in to solve complex challenges—often when things seem impossible. And he does it all with a smile on his face. His troubleshooting skills, paired with a can-do attitude, have made him an invaluable part of our team. It's no surprise that he was the well-deserving recipient of the 'Troubleshooter Award' at this year’s Annual Summer Conference! Waleed has been with us for nearly eight years, and he’s become more than just a team member—he’s a part of the furniture here at TIG. At TIG, we're dedicated to empowering individuals to create positive change, and that change can take many forms. One individual making a significant impact is Kalina Tomova She founded the WomenWise community to support women in data and tech, helping them advance their careers, build new skills, and connect with like-minded professionals. In 2023, women held only 19% of C-Suite roles in the UK, and just 17% in the tech sector. To address this, we've introduced WomenWiseRise, a new initiative under WomenWise, focused on guiding female tech leaders on their path to the C-Suite. A huge congratulations to Alex Butler for receiving the 'Groundbreaker Award' at our Annual Summer Conference!
