    This week, some of our team started a Leadership training journey that we’re calling ‘Artemis Leaders’. The brilliant Jamie Chambers from The Tess Group has started off the Artemis Leaders journey, which will be 10 sessions in total. In true Artemis style, everyone in the group received a purple, Artemis branded, faux-leather-bound ring binder, note pad and pen. The first session was all about identifying personal leadership styles, asking the group to reflect on their own leadership qualities. It was really interesting to compare how people thought of themselves often differed from how others saw them.     Today is World Mental Health Day – a day to encourage each other to open up and talk about how we are feeling 💚 This topic is incredibly significant to us here at Artemis. We’ve recently partnered with KidsAid who are a local charity doing superb work to provide therapy for children that really need it. They share our ethos of being proactive in our efforts to promote positive mental wellbeing. We have many support options and resources for our staff, through our partnership with the The Lighthouse Charity. Some of the resources they provide include free training via the Lighthouse Charity Wellbeing Academy, as well as promoting healthy habits like regular breaks, exercise and balance.     Artemis’ has an immediate response capability As a Chartered Building Society we are certified to deal with dangerous repairs like this. So we were instructed by our client to intervene with this Third Party Property Damage case, we performed an 'Emergency Call Out', where we attended the site to make it safe as an emergency. ⛑ ⛑ ⛑ Emergency Call Out / Health & Safety We put together a plan of action to support he building from collapse and secure the property in the meantime whilst we could then survey and make the full repair. We used techniques and tools that are specifically designed to support buildings on the brink of collapse, making it safe for passers-by and our Site Operatives to repair the property. We also sealed up the large gap to secure the property from the elements and to stop unauthorised entry. Thomas Eastwood and the Site Operatives received excellent feedback from the Third Party Property Owner after the Emergency Call Out: “Thank you for arranging that so promptly. Your team have worked through and have done a very neat job of securing the damaged area. I really appreciate that it was completed before the thunder storms and strong winds that came in later this afternoon - great timing.” 💬 💬 💬 Customer Service Our Site Operatives were able to go above and beyond, helping the Third Party remove the contents from the property during the repairs and working around the fridge-freezer so none of the food inside it would go to waste. After finally repairing the brick work and garage door, we received some more feedback from the Third Party Property Owner: “I’m very happy. Artemis are a good team.”   🔍 🔍 🔍 Contents / cash settlement   We were also able to go through a list of contents that were damaged by the impact, including some shelves of tools and parts for a car restoration the Third Party was part way through. We were able to substantiate this part of the claim and then agree a cash settlement with them.     Our entire team has got behind the fantastic initiative to generously donate to the Northampton Hope Centre this Harvest Festival. October is the traditional time of year for us to give thanks for the food we have, and share with those that are going through hardship. We’re really proud of the team for being selfless and giving back to the community in this way. We also got involved in the ‘Messages of Hope’ idea, adding positive messages to the donations so those using the Hope Centre service can see they are not alone and that their community really does care about their wellbeing. We support the Hope Centre because of the great work they do helping those struggling with homelessness, but also the unique ways they proactively look to prevent homelessness with initiatives like their food clubs and community workshops.     Can Artemis adapt their communication style to suit each customer? Communication is at the heart of everything we do at Artemis. All staff regularly receive training on communication; learning how to recognise other’s preferred communication style and how to successfully adapt the way we communicate to them. This is relevant to the way we work with each other, but also the way we interact with our clients and their customers. Looking at this case study; a vehicle rolled down the hill into the front of this house. It damaged the brickwork, guttering, fascia and knocked the outdoor meter box off the wall. The front door wouldn’t open, and the living room door wouldn’t shut as the impact had misaligned the walls. 🚧 🚧 🚧 Emergency Call Out We visited the site out of hours, putting in place props to support the porch roof so it was safe to work on. We also put in place some temporary security measures to keep the property secure, whilst making sure the Third Party could still get in and out. 🛠 🛠 🛠 Repair/Building Expertise We replaced all the broken materials with as close to a match as reasonably possible, always giving the Third Party a chance to approve the materials to ensure they were happy with the match. This included the bricks that were damaged beyond reuse and the front door which are no longer manufactured. We were able to return the doors to fully working order, fix the guttering, roof and facia so the porch was weather tight and was as good as new. We also re-plastered and painted to fill in and cover the slight internal cracks caused by the impact, even revarnishing one of the doors that had been affected. The Site Operatives tidied the site at the end of each day, so the Third Party was comfortable every evening. 💬 💬 💬 Communication / Customer Service We always pride ourselves on our excellent communication on every job. So during initial discussions with this Third Party, our Co-ordinator Harry James BA (HONS) MSc realised their personal circumstances demanded more regular communication throughout the journey. Harry and the Site Operatives had a couple of pieces of excellent feedback come in from the Third Party: “The Artemis team have done a very good job. I am happy with all of their work. Also very hardworking and professional. Thank you.”   “Very pleased.     Today some of our amazing team are taking part in the Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity Golf tournament at Northampton Golf Club Cynthia Spencer are an amazing charity that provide care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. We always support them throughout the year, but we’re really proud to be sponsoring the first and last holes at today’s tournament!     How do Artemis help avoid ‘business interruption’? 🏚 🚗 It’s always awful for the Third-Party Property Owner, when somebody else’s vehicle damages their property. But when the vehicle insurer instructs Artemis, we can turn a bad situation into a positive outcome.   Artemis are the only Chartered Building Company solely specialising in Third Party Property Damage claims, so we never try to fit a third party though a first party process.   👷♂️ We also have our own in-house team of Site Operatives, which means we have full oversight of the process from the initial survey to the completion of the repair, meaning we can deliver quality repairs whilst ensuring all spend is justified, so claims are not inflated.   🌐 We have UK-wide network of experts encompassing all aspects of construction and repairs which allows us to be flexible and take on any Third-Party Property Damage case, no matter how quirky.   🚛 In this case, a lorry damaged a fence and the corner of the roof on this family business.    ⚠ Emergency Call Out Our Senior Co-ordinator Harry James BA (HONS) MSc was concerned the roof tiles were loose and could fall on passers-by, so he arranged for us to visit the site as an emergency to make it safe.   📅 We were able to complete the full repairs on the same day, repairing the rafter, battens and replaced the damaged tiles. This meant the business could open as normal and we avoided any potential loss of business.   👍 Feedback The Third-Party Property Owner spoke to us over the phone to thank us from them and their family: “We’re all happy!
