Some wise words from James Reed CBE on the importance of studying for a qualification that is relevant to what employers are seeking, such as careers in tech and digital. At Code Nation we engage with individuals who have chosen to embark in a tech career, but also those who are looking to re-skill, both graduates and career changers. I'd encourage anyone who feels they have chosen the wrong path, to consider re-skilling, as organisations are now, more than ever opening up to applicants from a multitude of backgrounds to build diverse workforces fit for the future. #futureskills #techskills
Pleased to announce that I’ve got a new gig… picking up the pen for business paper City A.M. In my occasional column for the paper I will be seeking to share some new ideas, to offer some timely advice and to comment on ‘what the hell’s going on.’ Today I’m telling students that recruiters are typically much more interested in skills than grades, so don’t be disheartened if the exam results weren’t what you’d hoped for. There’s a whole world of opportunity out there especially in newly emerging areas around tech and clean energy, which is why Reed has been investing in them. I’m also hoping that Prime Minister Keir Starmer has a successful trip to Germany. A reset of relations with the EU would be good for trade and good for travellers. There’s already too much red tape around trade and making UK visitors apply for visas to go to the continent, which is in prospect, will introduce another unwelcome nuisance. I’m also recommending yoga as a good start to the day. It works for me anyway… it’s good for physical and mental strength and yes the Savasana, or corpse pose, is my fabourite. Have a great day! #Lovemondays #Lifeatreed #improvinglivesthroughwork #since1960 #PhilCo #yoga
