Exciting News for World Mental Health Day!   Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new podcast, Equal Dose - a show dedicated to exploring ways to improve health outcomes for everyone.   In our debut episode, co-hosted by Emmy-award winning broadcaster Autria Godfrey and myself, we dive deep into a pressing issue that affects countless lives: access to mental health services.   We had the privilege of speaking with the renowned psychiatrist Dr. Mark Komrad, faculty member at Johns Hopkins, Tulane, LSU, and the University of Maryland. Dr. Komrad shared invaluable insights on:   - The challenges and barriers people face in accessing mental health care. - How 50% of all US counties have either 1 or 0 psychiatrists. - Ethical dilemmas in psychiatry, including involuntary treatment and physician-assisted suicide. - Innovative approaches to mental health support, including his scientific advisory role with Healthy Gamer, which reaches out to younger generations through gaming communities.   This conversation couldn't be more timely. Mental health is health, and it's crucial that we break down the barriers preventing equitable access to care.   📺 🎧 **Watch or Listen to the first episode here** : https://lnkd.in/ea4b_Wau   Don't forget to follow and subscribe to Equal Dose on your favourite podcast platform!   #WorldMentalHealthDay #EqualDosePodcast #MentalHealth #HealthEquity #MentalHealthAccess #BreakingBarriers #PodcastLaunch #MentalHealthAwareness #Healthcare #Wellbeing #DrMarkKomrad #AutriaGodfrey #HealthyGamer #WebsEdge #StephenHorn #AccessToCare #MentalHealthMatters #PodcastDebut #HealthForAll #InnovationInHealthcare #MentalHealthForAll

How does the generational divide impact workforce management, and how can leaders leverage this understanding to build more effective teams?   Our ICMA TV team discussed these questions with Jason Dorsey, CEO of the The Center for Generational Kinetics, moments after he delivered his powerful keynote speech at #ICMA2024. Jason explored how generational context can shape workplace culture, employee expectations, and how to effectively communicate across age groups. He also offered practical advice on hiring, inspiring, and retaining employees from every generation. This conversation is essential for anyone looking to build a multigenerational workforce that is collaborative, innovative, and high performing.    The ICMA - International City/County Management Association Annual General Meeting & Conference is an invaluable opportunity for thousands of leaders in local government from around the globe to come together. Whilst attendees represent a range of ages, they also govern communities that span the entire generational spectrum. Understanding what motivates—or dissuades—each generation is crucial to leadership success, especially in a world where workforce dynamics are rapidly evolving.    Interested in learning more? Here at WebsEdge, we are always looking to feature the latest in groundbreaking research and ideas across all sectors. Our commitment to knowledge and championing those who are transferring it into real life applications is paramount.   We were very fortunate to interview Professor Henry Snaith, Professor of Renewable Energy, University of Oxford, Department of Physics, at the most recent MRS Spring Meeting in Seattle for MRS TV, and he shared with us his work on advancing solar technology.   Professor Snaith and his team at Oxford University have developed a groundbreaking method to generate solar electricity without traditional silicon solar panels. Instead, they’re using a thin, flexible material called perovskite that can be applied to almost any surface, from buildings to cars to even mobile phones. With potential to surpass 45% efficiency in the future, this perovskite-based technology could reduce costs and make solar power more sustainable.   We are thrilled to see that Professor Snaith, and the rest of the team at Oxford PV have had a great success in their mission to commercialise perovskite photovoltaics. A revolutionary breakthrough in solar energy, this work exemplifies how knowledge can transfer into real life business & applications; something we strive to support at WebsEdge.   I hope you will join me in watching our Knowledge Bank Extended Interview with Professor Snaith (linked below) and in congratulating him and the team in their remarkable achievements.   https://lnkd.in/eZJRCVpK   Photo: Martin Small. “Henry Snaith, Professor of Renewable Energy, at Oxford University Physics Department”

🏅 As the world tunes into the excitement of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, let's take a moment to celebrate the future of sports innovation. 🌟 Earlier this year, we released our documentary #PLAYEVERYWHERE, spotlighting @WBSC Baseball5 — the thrilling, five-on-five, five-inning urban sport with no bats and no gloves. 📽️⚾ Baseball5 will make its Olympic debut at the 2026 Youth Games! We’re excited to hear that the Azraq Refugee Baseball5 Team, featured in #PLAYEVERYWHERE will participate in exhibition matches at Club France in La Villette on 10 and 11 August, offering a unique opportunity for 10 young refugees to experience the spirit of an Olympic city. #PLAYEVERYWHERE reveals the accessibility of this sport, making a significant impact on youth across the globe. We’ve been inspired by the journey of the Olympic Refugee Team, first formed in 2016. Baseball5 mirrors this spirit of resilience and inclusivity, with a team formed at the Azraq refugee camp in Jordan. Join us as we dive into a movement that’s revolutionizing sports and witness this game-changing evolution firsthand!
