With a proven track record of managing a range of schemes from pre-construction to agent handover – including producing the Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans (CPH&SP) for multiple developments, ensuring compliance with the Consumer Code for Home Builders, and negotiating Section 106 Agreements. Stewart brings a wealth of expertise to support the Buckland Development team.

It’s #NationalTreeWeek and our team has been busy digging and planting trees, as an integral part of our green vision for Welborne. So far, we have planted a mix of 104 semi and super-semi mature trees and 4,306 in mitigation planting, and we’re still counting! 🌳 Tree-lined streets and grass verges will play an essential role to Welborne’s development, supporting wildlife and creating a community surrounded by nature. We are looking forward to future growing seasons where hundreds more semi-mature trees and 3,700 linear metres of hedge will be planted. Created by The Tree Council and partners, #NationalTreeWeek brings together tree fans, including those in the conservation sector, to celebrate the beginning of the tree planting season and to plant for all of our futures.

This recent aerial view shows our cycleways and public footpaths taking shape alongside the newly landscaped Welborne Park. You can also see the start of tree lined streets with verges which will be seeded in due course. These are features which are not often included in modern mainstream developments, but which we think are essential to creating a happy and healthy community that also enhances nature and wildlife. Overall, there will be more than 12 miles of cycleways and pedestrian routes at Welborne, which will also help to reduce the use of cars in the area. #welborne #sustainability #biodiversity

Ecological experts Nicola French and Jeff Picksley explain how Welborne’s development will make the intensively farmed arable land where it is being built more diverse from a biodiversity perspective by forming new habitats. For example, the drainage ponds which have been created have the potential to attract a host of bird species that weren’t previously present on the farmland, such as Little Egrets, Common Snipe, and migrants from Africa, like Reed Warblers. Welborne has a dedicated Biodiversity Enhancement Strategy to guide its development in a nature positive way. 50% of the community will be publicly accessible green space, rising to 75% when gardens are taken into account. #welborne #biodiversity #ecology

For our new followers who have just discovered us, Welborne is a Garden Village, nestled between the South Downs and the Hampshire Coast. Our first homes are well underway and will be ready at the beginning of 2025. Welborne is a 25 year project, with an award winning town architect Ben Pentreath Ltd at its helm to ensure the overall design consistency, authenticity and character of the place is maintained throughout. Up to 700 homes, a Village Centre, with a pub and a wide range of shops, cafes, a community hall, GP surgery, the first primary school, woodland access, parks, footpaths and cycle ways will all be delivered within the first phase. Developing a place of which we are all proud of, is very real and sits behind much of our approach to creating Welborne. We are pleased to share Hampshire County Council announcement of the go-ahead of the M27 Junction 10 upgrades, an important part of the upfront infrastructure investment for Welborne. Mark Thistlethwayte Chairman of Buckland Group Limited, the Master Developer of Welborne UK said: “These upgrades will improve local connectivity and traffic flow, connecting Fareham as well as Welborne and the A32 to the M27 in both directions. Buckland has agreed to underwrite over 95% of a £100m+ funding package for this critical regional infrastructure project, supported by Housing Infrastructure funding from Homes England.” https://lnkd.in/eQtThzUt
