🩸 Our “Just a Period” campaign has launched! Millions of women and girls suffer with severe period pain or heavy bleeding, yet many are dismissed and don't get the treatment and support they need. Watch the video to learn about the devastating affect that debilitating periods - often a sign of a gynaecological condition - can have on women. Our campaign will help to tackle these issues and make sure everyone gets information about medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment they may need. Find out more and how you can get involved ⤵️ https://ow.ly/Hykz50PLiKk Together, let's make sure our periods don't hold us back. #JustAPeriod #WomensHealth #Period #Endometriosis #Adenomyosis #PCOS #HeavyBleeding #PeriodPain #SeverePain

It was an honour for our Chief Executive Janet Lindsay to speak at the 50:50 Parliament women's health event alongside inspiring women’s health advocates and campaigners including WoW ambassadors Mariella Frostrup and Cherry Healey. Our combined voices raised a clear need for investment in research to revolutionise prevention, diagnosis and treatment for women, improved education on women’s health across society - from schools to workplaces and beyond - and prioritisation of women’s health needs and gynaecology within the NHS. We look forward to working with all newly elected MPs including Emily Darlington MP, Preet Kaur Gill MP, Carolyn Harris MP and Vikki Slade MP to tackle women’s health inequalities and ensure no woman is held back by her reproductive or gynaecological health. #GenderEquality #WomensHealth #5050Parliament

Our health system, historically designed by men, for men, fails to meet the needs of women. This disparity is even more pronounced among women from historically marginalised communities. That's why The Health Collective are calling on the new government to #CloseTheHealthGap. Find out how you can take action: https://lnkd.in/gbHXUsgs #WomensHealth #GenderEquality #Healthcare #GDEI

Sbba Siddique's symptoms of ovarian cancer were dismissed as menopause. If she had been listened to earlier, she could have avoided the permanent disabilities she suffered from her cancer treatment. She shared her story with The Independent to raise awareness of the ways women from ethnic minority backgrounds often face delays in their treatment. As a member of the Health Collective, Sbba is calling for better health support for women from marginalised communities. Imagine a workplace where employers and colleagues understand and support employees affected by women's health issues such as painful, heavy periods, the menopause and fertility issues. It was inspiring to hear from Kate James, Lloyds Banking Group, one of the founding members of our Employer Membership Programme at our first members' networking lunch, bringing together employers who want to lead the charge in ensuring their workplaces are inclusive and supportive of women. We all have a role to play in making these important changes. #EMPWOW #WomensHealth #GDEI
Senior Communications Business Partner, Lloyds Banking Group | Women in Banking & Finance Role Model | Women’s Health Lead | Menopause in the workplace SME | Wellbeing Award winner
I’m proud to co-lead the menopause and women’s health workstream for Breakthrough, the women’s network at Lloyds Banking Group. We aim to help women feel valued, supported and empowered at work and helping people manage their health and wellbeing plays a vital role in this - particularly for women who may face a number of health issues throughout their lives. That’s why I’m super excited that we’ve become a founding member of the Wellbeing of Women Employer Membership Program. This not only builds on the work we’ve done through our Menopause Promise, but demonstrates our ongoing commitment to support women across the organisation through all their health and life stages. Last week it was our pleasure to host the first Wellbeing of Women members event at our Halifax Flagship branch and it was an honour to represent Lloyds Banking Group with Katherine Sargent and talk alongside Dame Lesley Regan, Janet Lindsay and Anne-Marie Balfour. It was a real inspiration to hear from Dame Lesley, Wellbeing of Women chair, England’s first Women’s Health Ambassador and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Imperial College London St Mary’s Hospital Campus. We also heard about the vital work the charity does and celebrating it’s 60th year, Janet Lindsay, CEO spoke about their ongoing work to change and save the lives of women, girls and babies. 💫 Thank you to the team at Wellbeing of Women - Laura Neale and Pia Sykes for asking us to host and to the Halifax Flagship branch for letting us use their space and for supporting us brilliantly Rakesh (Rax) Kalia and Chris Dyer. Kirstie Pollard-Hawkins and Laura Needham next time!
