Why is coaching powerful for building partnerships? Highly trained, experienced professionals also experience limiting beliefs about themselves and how they’re perceived by others. Overheard this week at Wenham Carter: “As a woman in my 20s, when preparing to speak to male decision makers in my industry I feel like I’ll have an additional hurdle to overcome in establishing trust and respect.” “As a man in my 30s, when I speak to female decision makers in my industry I’m conscious they might have a preconceived notion about male recruiters. I’ll sometimes go into the discussion aware that I’m trying to demonstrate that I’m not that stereotype.” Both of these consultants are deep sector experts with extensive track records of delivering exceptional results for our clients. But even for them, anticipating bias – even if only imagined - can be an initial barrier to overcome. This week Corporate Coach Laura Phelan joined us to lead a second cohort through her Self-Strategy workshop, addressing Limiting Beliefs and Self-Perception. With her kind permission, we're sharing a snippet of her insight: an exercise to address these kinds of negative thoughts when they come up and get into a better space for relationship building. Are you in Executive Search or Recruitment? Try the exercise and tell us if it works for you. What other strategies do you use to overcome limiting beliefs?

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Milena and her team at Wenham Carter for the past 8 months. As an insurtech in scale-up, we have needed a partner who understands us - not just our business needs but our essence: who we are, what we stand for, and how we operate. This understanding is evident in their incredible candidate-to-hire rate, saving us time and resources while ensuring we get the very best talent for each role. They are a true partner in every sense of the word. We’re incredibly grateful for their expertise and highly recommend them to any company looking for a partner who delivers outstanding results with a personal touch.” Milena Parker-Jurd, Sabrina Giles and Hafsa Hamza will be at Insurtech Insights, March 18-20. Connect with them directly to discuss people-driven progress for your business, or to connect you with opportunities for impact. Diaries now open!

“I believe that before you change the world, you need to get your own home in order.” - Steven Bartlett While we're not currently appointing a Head of Happiness & Health like FLIGHTSTORY 👏 it's fascinating to watch the way companies are continuing to advance society's reimagining of work and 'home'. In 2020 we got our own home in order. As we went into lockdown, we decided to double down and invest so that when we could be together again, we would be able to return to a space that supported 💥community 💥collaboration 💥wellbeing Last year the space we built with Stickland Wright won a Highly Commended in SUSSEX HERITAGE TRUST's commercial architecture awards. This year we’re breaking ground on a second build to accommodate our growing team at Brighton HQ, this time honing our focus on #health. This means an office that houses: 💥sauna and plunge pool (for our many Wim Hof method afficionados) 💥healthful food partnerships 💥an extension to our existing gym so our people can enjoy classes and personal training We’re a hybrid business. But critically, as well as flexibility, we want to give our people a place they want (not have) to be. If you'd like to call here home, head over to our What We Do page. We're hiring! How’s your business supporting employee health by getting your home in order? We’d love to compare notes... #recruitment #executivesearch #worldofwenhamcarter
