This #featurefriday, we shine a spotlight on our #MalinEquipment business unit. This specialist team, based at our premises Westway at Glasgow Airport, offer a range of bespoke equipment products, from ramps and passenger access systems, to hydraulic keel blocks...not to mention custom consultancy and design services, as client requirements dictate. Their recent project with Smart Green Shipping, developing the #fastrig design, which has since been installed for testing on the Pacific Grebe, one of the UK's fleet of three nuclear transport vessels, specially designed to move high-level nuclear waste, showcases this tailored, value add approach. The team worked hand in glove with the client to ensure the prototype could be efficiently and effectively built, transported and installed. We're so proud to have won the Circular Economy Award last week alongside (and with thanks to) AMRL and University of Strathclyde (Dr Tiziana Marrocco, PhD CEng FIMMM, Fiona Sillars, West of Scotland KTP Centre) at the CeeD (Centre for Engineering, Education and Development) Awards. Our innovative collaboration accelerated our objective of creating a circular economy in the wind industry for decommissioned wind turbine parts and also resulted in the creation of the Coalition for Wind Industry Circularity (CWIC). Altrad Babcock were delighted to host a visit to our Renfrew facility earlier today by Michael Matheson, Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy & Transport, in conjunction with the launch of the Scottish Government’s Hydrogen Action Plan.  We are excited about our role in engineering and building future hydrogen projects in Scotland, playing our part on some truly innovative projects. We recognise the importance of enabling Scottish Industry to empower their decarbonisation plans, and the Hydrogen Action Plan is a critical document in charting the support for both industry and supply chain in meeting these aims. ⭐️ Perfect Day ⭐️ Yesterday marked our 2nd Anniversary here at Westway, but instead of having an anniversary celebration we had a “Perfect Day” instead. Our perfect day was about making every inch of our business and facility the very best it could be, reaffirming the pride that we all have in our place of work. To say I was impressed would be an understatement, the place was absolutely immaculate, our drivers showing great pride in how their vehicles were presented, every corner of the warehouse was spotless, the offices pristine with no paper or samples lying around, not a single piece of IT equipment or marketing collateral stacked up. Everything has its place and there is a place for everything! As a food business, hygiene factors are so important as are the incredibly high standards that we set for ourselves. We invited customers, some suppliers and service providers for a tour to see Fishill at its very best. Their feedback was fantastic.
