Developing an evidence base of what does and doesn't work in primary and secondary classrooms.
About us
In education, teachers and policy makers are constantly implementing new interventions to try to improve the educational outcomes of learners. Yet, rarely do we stop and ask the questions "are these effective?" and "what evidence do we have to decide if they are effective?" WhatWorked is the essential guide to support teachers who are looking to increase their impact in the classroom. Our aim is to help teachers to test interventions which work in your school and then share these with fellow professionals, to create a WhatWorked evidence base of what does and doesn't work in primary and secondary classrooms.

If you are a secondary school teacher and you have not seen the EEF Guidance report 'Improving Literacy in Secondary Schools', this is a good read. "The guidance report aims to help secondary schools improve literacy in all subject areas. It provides seven recommendations related to reading, writing, talk, vocabulary development and supporting struggling students. Throughout the report, recommendations emphasise the importance of disciplinary literacy." (EEF, 2021) #literacy #schools #education #teachers https://lnkd.in/dafk-qqX

We are building a teacher led evidence base using robust small scale micro-RCTs and replicating these across schools. As the data arrives, we then aggregate this to find out what are the best bets for teachers to use in their classroom. Take a look at our short introduction video to the free public trials section of www.whatworkedteachers.com. https://lnkd.in/ewthjGHY #education #teachers #schoolleaders #schools #primaryeducation #secondaryeducation
