I recently participated in the Women Leadership in the Digital Era program by Wiley Edge and Columbia University. This transformative experience provided deep insights into leadership and digital technologies, particularly AI. Here are my key takeaways: Understanding AI's Impact: We explored how AI transforms finance, banking, and marketing by automating processes, enhancing customer experiences, and driving data-driven decisions. Case studies like Carrefour's customer service improvements and the Mall of the Emirates' parking management highlighted AI's real-world applications. Levels of Data Handling: It was crucial to learn about descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. These levels provide comprehensive insights, forecast trends, and recommend actions for informed leadership decisions. Data Mining and Analysis: Sessions on data mining, collecting, filtering, and understanding data were particularly beneficial, helping extract valuable insights to drive strategic decisions and innovation. Emotions as Information in AI: We delved into how AI handles emotional data. Pros: Enhanced customer interactions and user experiences by catering to emotional needs. Cons: Ethical concerns, potential biases, and complexity in interpreting emotions accurately. Tools and Applications: Power BI and Microsoft ML were invaluable for data visualization, predictive modeling, and informed leadership decisions. Personal Growth and AI-Human Interaction: Beyond technical knowledge, this program significantly contributed to my growth as a leader of the marketing & communication department at the Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF). Understanding the synergy between AI and human interaction has been enlightening. AI enhances human capabilities and fosters better decision-making.
