Wiltshire Wood Recycling diverts wood from the waste stream and creates opportunities for local community members. They collect waste wood from construction sites and other businesses at a lower cost than hiring a conventional skip bin. The reclaimed wood is graded and either sold at discounted rates or used to make quality wood products for local community groups, schools, playgrounds, or the public. Low quality wood is sold as kindling and firewood or sent to a chipboard manufacturer. 🙌🪵 Wiltshire Wood Recycling prevents usable resources from entering landfills and reduces demand for new timber and further deforestation. 👏 The wood waste is collected using small economical vehicles, loaded by hand, and used locally to minimize the carbon footprint. 🌍️ Through this service, Wiltshire Wood Recycling is able to offer woodworking training, apprenticeships, paid work placements, and volunteer opportunities to local people who either face barriers to employment or want to contribute to the community. ❤️ Wiltshire Wood Recycling is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), a certified Living Wage Employer and a Disability Confident Employer, and a member of Community Wood Recycling and Social Enterprise UK. They reinvest all surplus towards their purpose.😊 Wiltshire Wood Recycling Upper Castle Combe, England, United Kingdom https://lnkd.in/gZC-MeC2

  • What does 2024 have in store for our Community sector ? We can be sure it will be a little different to 2023! The economy is uncertain, new legislation brought in has yet to come into full effect and cost increases have really started to be felt. The National Living Wage will be increased shortly so this will no doubt have an impact too. I'm sure we will all struggle in some way but there has to be light at the end of the tunnel.....just hope we have enough fuel to get there! Whatever happens in the coming Months I'm sure we will carry on doing what we do best and keep on saving the Planet our way.
