A Simulation suite conceived on the back of a patient safety initiative and designed by a small team of people passionate about delivering Sim based Education. We have 8 manikins including Lucina and Edith and a Laerdal 3G mannikin Cedric who is a very busy educator! In addition we have Archie Bertie Frank, Amd a few more! We are a team led by Dr Ratna Makker- Cd, Anaesthetist, Founder, Accredited by ASPiH and on the Executive council of ASPiH and AOME. Ratna has trained in Debriefing at Center for MedicalSimulation, Harvard and is an accredited Instructor in Human Factors with Global Aviation. The Sim suite is run by Bruce Kerr, Simulation Manager with a longstanding focus on Simulation and resuscitation and also an accredited instructor in HF with Global Aviation. Mary Holding is the simulation Technician who has created the website and edited many videos relating to SBE. She has a degree in Media and this is evident I. Her modulate skills! Mary also supervised an apprentice Martin who has become an invaluable member of the team. Finally we have a fabulous team of Associate Sim fellows who are recruited after a robust interview.
We have delivered countless sessions to multiple disciplines within the Trust and outside. We have presented at National and International conferences.
We have held 3 successful annual events featuring international speakers such as Professor Guillaume Alinier, Denis Oriot, Dinkar Pai and others.
We run HF masterclasses and Debriefing training courses.
We have launched a bespoke sim based program for International medical graduates at Foundation level. Many Royal Colleges and Undergraduate medical schools have accessed facilities at WISER to educate their students and trainees.
