  • Call for panellists! We have had the following request from Kirsty Adams: The new IMHX team   I would love for Women in Logistics to host a panel at the show on one of the following topics:   How is AI reducing costs in warehouses? How can/are AI-powered tools helping warehouse operators tackle issues such as rising costs and labour shortages? Speakers: Operators (3PL/retailer/manufacturing)   A practical path to warehouse sustainability: How to select long-term energy-efficient technologies / Strategies for upgrading and retrofitting existing infrastructure / Creating a culture of environmental responsibility / Practical examples of employee-led sustainability projects Speakers: Operators (3PL/retailer/manufacturing/FMCG/developer)   Technology – the bridges we cross & the bridges we burn: Major investment in new technology can be a difficult decision. In this panel session, warehouse operators will discuss the bold investment decisions they have taken in automation/AI/FLT, and the positive outcomes for their business. They will also share insight on the technology they no longer need. (Retailer/manufacturing FMCG)   Retailer insight: How are consumers shaping the UK’s warehouse operations? What trends are shifting how we store and deliver goods?   If you'd like to be involved please leave a comment below or contact Kirsty directly. Thanks!

  • Here is another male ally of Women in Logistics UK - in fact he was the first man to join the new Community Interest Company: Grahame Neagus. Here's what he told us about why he joined: "Having been part of and a keen supporter of, the Women in Logistics netwalking group over the last few years I have found out first hand how interactive and supportive of each other the members have been on various levels. Having always been an advocate of diversity and inclusion within the workplace at Renault Trucks and our Dealerships, being able to discuss new and share past experiences with others is a great way of communicating the excellent messages of WiL. The work that Ruth, Clare and the other committee members is not only class leading but to be applauded in bringing important issues and opportunities to the fore within our industry. I am thrilled to be part of the new WiL in 2025 and look forward to a stimulating future".

  • Did you know we have lots of MALE ALLIES who are members of Women in Logistics UK? We want to spread the word about why they joined to inspire other men to join too, and here is what Kevin Ford FCILT said! "Why Women in Logistics?  It took me less than a few seconds to decide to join and support Women in Logistics when the launch post appeared. While I may not always be in a recruiting position, being inclusive is more than simply choosing who to employ. Being a founding member of WiL signifies my intent and commitment to support the work of, contribute to, and embrace the differing perspectives that inclusive working behaviour fosters.  Former female colleagues at Lower Thames Crossing, HS2, and the extraordinary team from CAN Ltd bobbing about on the River Thames, as well as my current colleagues at DGP PLC, provide and share valuable insights and challenges to my own un/conscious bias when developing often complex logistics strategies. I want to do what I can to demonstrate and support career paths and development for all, especially those who doubt themselves. After all, I entered construction logistics after meeting a former colleague at Tesco, and I haven’t done too poorly. What can you do to support women in logistics?"
