The Worcestershire Association of Carers is a registered charity which was founded in 1997. We are an independent source of information, advice and support for the 63,000 unpaid adult carers in Worcestershire and also provide Social Prescribing and Lifestyle Advice services in Redditch, We provide a range of services for carers, mainly through the Worcestershire Integrated Carers Hub. The services include a carer helpline, carers well being assessments, carer groups, training and information sessions, a carers emergency card. We also help carers make their voices heard at a strategic and decision making level. Our other projects include Working for Carers which aims to work with employers to support carers in the workplace and Carers Unlimited which provides activities for carers to give them a break from their caring role. We welcome opportunities to work in partnership with other organisations and businesses, and are always looking for volunteers in a wide variety of roles.

Our research shows that unpaid carers are much more likely to experience financial hardship. We found: 1.2 million unpaid carers across the UK are living in poverty. The poverty rate for unpaid carers was 50% higher than for those who did not provide unpaid care. Menopausal workers are the fastest-growing demographic in the workforce. It’s important to remember that menopause is normal and that judgement-free support should be available in order to have an effective and cohesive workspace. A series of Redditch-based menopause support groups will be taking place weekly and monthly until the end of the year.
