We've got big ideas and even bigger passions and perspectives amongst the team at Workhouse and love nothing more than sharing them in our monthly CoLab sessions. This month, Our Senior Strategic Planner, Elsie Doolan took the helm and presented an assortment of campaigns through the ages to reflect the evolution of women’s representation in advertising. We couldn't help but laugh out loud at the absurdity in some of the depictions over the decades, but fair to say we've come a long way; with Bodyform's '#wombstories', Volvo's 'E.V.A Initiative' and Sport England's 'This Girl Can' leading the charge for refreshingly authentic and genuine representation. With so many great examples like these, it's clear the opportunity for brands and advertising teams to use an intersectional approach to better represent and connect with women's lived experiences, (whilst refraining from 'femwashing') is vast! Just a pity we only feel the need to talk about it once a year! #internationalwomensday2024 #inspireinclusion
Today marked the start of an incredible skills exchange programme with the fabulous folk at Deaf Village North West. They took the time last week to deliver essential deaf awareness training to our agency; teaching us all about the daily challenges the deaf community face and how we can do our bit to improve our communication skills and inclusivity. In return, we're going to spend the next 12 weeks teaching them key graphic design skills and all about life in a creative agency, (whilst picking up as much sign language as we can along the way!) 😁 #deafawareness #deafeducation #bcorp

After a crazy few weeks, we’ve finally gone full-festive at Workhouse HQ this week! We’ve decked our halls, harvested our very own Ribchester honey for our Christmas present parcels and held our annual office get-together with the team to hand out some well-deserved Awards!
