    Is your job search like my training? You see, I wake up 5am most days, pump myself to a big CrossFit session and by the end of it feel exhausted. It is hard so I wanted quick results, and when I didn’t see quick results, I did what most do, I quit (CrossFit in January). The results were horrific: I felt more emotionally drained, stress, overwhelmed with pressure and depressed. And that spiral out to my work, mental health etc.So a few months ago, I made a change and promise to myself that no matter what I will continue to give 100% and think about the margin gains rather than the end result I want. Changing my thinking to achieving margin gains helped me to have a different perspective and no longer I feel discouraged. I’ve been at it for awhile now and the results are amazing! Not only my mood, outlook in life has changed but it also show in our company results. For example I billed £84k in one week and ended the month at £130k. That massive for any recruiter doing everything by themself let alone running a business. Thankfully I have also managed to recruit some great people and we have some more exciting news to arrive next week. So my message to you is simple. If you are feeling tired from your job search just like I feel after a CrossFit session, know that the longer you keep going and seek to improve margin gains you will win in the end. For example when was the last time you objectively looked at your cv? When was the last time you got a professional give constructive feedback on your CV and LinkedIn? When was the last time you dressed up to remote interview? When was the last time you took a course to improve your communication? When was the last time you took a genuine interest in a company or a person? When did you last help someone to become the best version of themselves? You see all these are marginal gains that will improve your chances of getting that next big job but also do better in life. So if you are not getting interviews that is because you are not focusing on marginal gains and not putting enough work into it. Action plan to secure the next interview: get a professional to review your CV and LinkedIn.
