  • Many workplaces invest in AV solutions but overlook crucial design elements that impact productivity, collaboration, and employee experience. From poor acoustics to overcomplicated tech, these mistakes can have a big impact. Let's explore 3 common office design mistakes - and how to fix them. ⚠️ Mistake #1 – The Wrong Tech for the Space Fix it with: ✅ Choose the right AV solutions based on room size and number of users. ✅ Use high-quality mics and cameras suited for larger groups. ✅ Avoid tech for tech’s sake. Focus on practical, user-friendly solutions. ✅ On a budget? Consider Second Life AV for cost-effective, sustainable options. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ekn-V8Zd ⚠️ Mistake #2 – Overcomplicated Tech Frustrates Users Fix it with: ✅ Simplified, user-friendly AV setups that anyone can operate. ✅ Clear, accessible instructions. Use a QR code for quick access. ✅ Better user adoption through intuitive design and change management support. 💡 Tech should enhance collaboration, not complicate it! Mistake #3 – Poor Acoustics Disrupt Meetings Fix it with: ✅ Acoustic panels and soundproofing to reduce distractions. ✅ High-quality microphones designed for the room size. ✅ Sound-masking technology to improve privacy and focus. Which mistake have you seen the most?? If you need expert advice on how to improve your office set up, get in touch for a free consultation today 🤝

  • Another day, another new addition to our rapidly expanding team! Chris Vernon has joined us as Lead Solutions Engineer here at Workspace Audio Visual. Find out all about him right here: Tell us a bit about your work history. I've been in the AV industry for over 2 decades which makes me feel incredibly old. I've worked in most sectors including MOD, Residential, Commercial & Education all over the world. During that time I've covered all aspects of a project in that time from the initial survey, to Installation, commissioning and handover. Before that, I worked for SKY and I started my career as a Vehicle Technician. What does your typical working day look like? A typical day usually starts the day before, prepping for the job and confirming all kit and details are correct. On the day things start early (pre 6am) to arrive on-time and get that all important coffee! We will then meet with the client and confirm their expectations for the installation before proceeding to deliver a solution to their requirements with as little disruption as possible. I'll then commission the system and complete a handover, making sure the end user has the confidence and training they need to use their new solution. What’s your favourite thing about your job? What I enjoy the most is a full days work delivering a solution to the client with the latest technology that exceeds their expectations and makes their day to day working life easier! I also enjoy the collaboration & banter with colleagues and the social aspect at the end of a working day🍻 What do you think are the three biggest skills you bring to work? I would like to think I bring, experience, efficiency and a bit of humour to the job and my colleagues. What are the key ingredients you think help create a happy workplace? I think after all the companies that I've been part of and the experiences that I've had, the best working environments are ones that are filled with efficient, knowledgeable and hard working individuals combined with a bit of humour. This culminates in a professional and slick solution to a clients needs and a general appreciation for each others skills and efforts. Outside of work, where are you happiest? Generally you can find me on the golf course or in a pub if I'm not working or improving my house/garden. I've recently finished building a log cabin at home with the addition of a fully stocked bar - perfect for watching the football/golf and enjoying the garden.

  • Please join us in welcoming the latest addition to the Workspace Audio Visual family, Sara Fielder , who joins us as our new Account Director. Sara took a few minutes out of her busy day to give us a bit of background on her work history and a glimpse into what she likes to do outside of work. Tell us a bit about your work history. Like many in the AV industry, I fell into it somewhat by chance. My career in AV began over 15 years ago, during which I’ve held various roles, including Service Desk Coordinator, Sales Administrator, and Internal Sales, before finding my true calling as an Account Manager/Director. I spent 11 years with one of the largest AV integrators but have since found greater fulfilment working with small to mid-sized integrators, where I can have a more hands-on impact and build deeper client relationships.   What does your typical working day look like?  No two days are ever the same! My day could involve working from home, doing admin, preparing quotes and proposals, collaborating with colleagues in the office, or out visiting clients to discuss projects and build relationships. The variety keeps things interesting.   What’s your favourite thing about your job? The best part of my role is building real, long-lasting relationships with clients. I take pride in ensuring they know we are trustworthy and have their best interests at the heart of everything we do. There’s nothing more rewarding than receiving positive feedback at the end of a successful project!   What do you think are the three biggest skills you bring to work?   I’d say my top three strengths are: 1. Trustworthiness – I always operate with integrity and honesty. 2. Strong moral values – I believe in doing the right thing for both clients and colleagues. 3. A results-driven mindset – I am highly motivated to achieve success.   What are the key ingredients you think help create a happy workplace? A happy workplace starts with trust, having managers who empower their employees without the need to micromanage. Approachability is also key, where both leadership and colleagues welcome open feedback and collaboration. Most importantly, a company culture built around like-minded people who share the same ethos fosters a positive and motivated work environment.   Outside of work, where are you happiest? I’m happiest when spending time with my nieces and nephews or traveling with my partner. Creating memories with loved ones is what matters most to me.   Name one interesting fact about you: Two years ago, my partner and I took a four-month break from work to travel the world! We explored Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Japan, Thailand, and Cambodia. One of my biggest achievements during that trip was completing a 12m (climbing nearly 800m in altitude) hike up an active volcano in New Zealand, which took almost 8 hours! Considering I’m not a hiker, this was a huge personal milestone (and yes, I complained the whole way up! 😂).
