We were honoured to have been chosen as a finalist in the Collaborative Action Award category of the Business in the Community Responsible Business Awards 2024 for our Greenspace initiative at Springbank. A partnership project between Good Shepherd Primary School, The Turnaround Project, Colin Glen Trust, Woven and tenants at Springbank are helping to transform the land from a secluded derelict space into a community Greenspace with raised vegetable beds and accessible outdoor classroom, with nature encouraged through bird boxes, wildflower patch and bug hotel. Staff members are currently volunteering their time to get the greenspace ready ahead of its opening to the public. Paula E. HOMES - LIVES - COMMUNITIES
About us
Woven (formerly Habinteg Housing Association (Ulster) Ltd) was founded in 1976 as a registered housing association in Northern Ireland. We plan, develop and manage ‘integrated’ housing schemes in both urban and rural areas throughout the region and work with a number of partner organisations in providing supported housing projects. Woven represents not only our name, but also what we do. Our aim is to develop housing and bring people together to create thriving neighbourhoods, weaving together homes, lives and communities to help create a shared vision of an inclusive Northern Ireland. Our Vision - Homes, lives and Communities; Woven, as one encapsulates this central aim. To achieve our Vision, we provide housing which combines a range of dwelling types - family houses, apartments and bungalows - in order to appropriately meet the needs of the widest range of users, including older persons and persons with a disability. Quality, sustainable developments include large and medium sized suburban housing developments, inner city apartments, individual rural cottages and specialised housing schemes. Partnership projects include sensitively designed housing with care schemes, temporary accommodation for people who are homeless, and housing initiatives for people with additional support needs. The standard and quality of Woven’s developments has been recognised at local and national level with an impressive list of high profile awards, including the UK Housing Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Housing in Northern Ireland and the RICS Award for the Northern Ireland region. We are a Customer Service Excellence organisation and have Investor in People Gold status. Woven’s main offices are in Belfast with a regional office in Derry/Londonderry. At an operational level, we have four Directorates - Homes & Communities, Asset Management, Development, Finance and Corporate Services.

We are delighted that phase 2 of our scheme at Beechmount Village has officially been handed over to our new tenants. An additional 17 households have become the newest residents at the former Adria Factory site, joining tenants from the first phase at Woven's first integrated urban village. In anticipation of their move, our new tenants participated in a pre-tenancy workshop last week. These sessions provide an invaluable oppportunity to address any questions, learn more about the scheme and the housing association and make connections with both their new neighbours and the Woven team. Woven are proud to be building vibrant, supportive communities and look forward to seeing Beechmount Village thrive. #WeAreWoven Paula E. We are delighted to officially handover the first phase of Beechmount Village, an integrated urban village on the former Adria factory site in Strabane. The site on Beechmount Avenue has been vacant for more than 15 years and holds a long history with the people of Strabane. We were pleased to work alongside our design team of RPP and Naylor Devlin and our main contractor Kevin Watson Group to bring it back into use by delivering new, high quality accessible homes and apartments to meet the growing social housing need in the area. The new scheme has been designed to meet the needs of our tenants. It will include high quality open space and landscaping, and, once completed, a playpark. This new development, supported by Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Department for Communities will provide an enhancement of the existing neighbourhood and aims to address the growing demand for housing in the Strabane area. Delighted to have completed an environmental project in the Newtownstewart Centre 2000. Funded by T:BUC, with the help of the children from Care Bears Community Playgroup gave the outdoor garden area a makeover. The team helped to plant flowers, shrubs, remove weeds, prune overgrown plants, cleared out any debris and laid bark to finish. This is just one of the many environmentally focused projects we facilitate for communities under the Housing for All initiative.
