Want to find out how we might use AI to make our experiences more meaningful? Join us at our second IRL WXO Campfire in collaboration with the brilliant creators at Tellart, live from their Amsterdam HQ. Tristan Hupe-Guimarães and Pim Schachtschabel are already AI adventurers, having created the World Experience Award-shortlisted SAM for Nxt Museum, as well as Dinner in 2050 for COP28. They’ll present some of the insights and tools they used, including their custom immersive AI model, before we experiment together to work out how we might introduce AI into our own experiences. The guest list is strictly limited, with priority being given first to WXO Members and then to those interested in joining the WXO. Can’t make it? Both James Wallman and Fabiën Vlems will be on the show floor at IAAPA on 25-26 September. If you’d like to say hello, give us a shout! 👋

🔥 What if you could personalise, localise, and make exhibits more accessible – without any friction for the visitor? 🔥 Implementing accessibility, personalisation, and localisation can be a pain point. It's expensive. It's hard. But what if it doesn't have to be? Brett Bagenstose, Baron of Pixels at NeoPangea, will share how RFID can be used to invisibly enable personalisation, solve challenges for your visitors and staff, and make attractions that transform the visitor experience, using lessons from Harry Potter: The Exhibition. WXO Members can RSVP now on our community platform 🥳 #wxo #wxocampfires #worldexperienceorganization #experiences #experienceeconomy #experiencedesign #rfid #rfidtechnology

🔥 Want to win 80% of your pitches?🔥 Experience designer and creative strategist Nancy Duncan wins 80% of hers, having secured work for Meta, Google, Diageo, Samsung, Adidas, and Porsche, among other big hitters. In the first of two Campfires this week, she’ll share the secrets of her structured yet flexible approach to help you win more often and make more money. You’ll learn the importance of team chemistry, budget & execution, understanding the brief, creativity & innovation, and your presentation itself. “The strength of this field is also its challenge: not one size fits all.” One of the greatest challenges of immersive entertainment is that it’s not just one thing. It’s Taylor Swift fandom bracelets, Sleep No More, theme parks, Extended Reality, escape games, and so much more. Therefore the copy-paste-repeat commercial model isn’t going to work. We need varied experiences to evolve a constantly evolving industry – and varied business models to serve their needs. So in our latest Campfire report, Culture House Immersive's Mikhael Tara Garver explains how she's channelled 25 years of experience – including for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, Punchdrunk, Disney, Netflix, AMC, and Meta – into developing a new pipeline for "Feature Immersive Entertainment". At the link in comments, discover how you might: 🤝 Include both B2B and B2C models within your experience 🎭 Get performing arts centres to pay for your content 🌱 Leverage LBE to seed long-lasting IP 🪐 Design for the near, far, and infinite ..and many more nuggets of hard-won wisdom We've got more Campfires on the creative and commercial sides of building an experience lined up, from how to win your experience pitches with Nancy Duncan to immersive storytelling with Margaret Chandra Kerrison. 🔥 How do we build a sustainable business at the heart of the experiential Wild West? 🔥 With the immersive industry growing at a rapid rate, this is the question many experience creators are asking themselves. Culture House Media is building a first-of-its-kind pipeline for Feature Immersive Entertainment, and answers this question with another question: “how do we build the creative?” In our first Campfire of Season 11, Founder Mikhael Tara Garver will bring her 25 years of experience to share insight on what it means to build a pipeline of Feature Immersive Entertainment across roller rinks, disused malls, XR platforms, television, podcasts, music festivals, restaurants, ren faires, and more. WXO Members can RSVP now on our community platform – and there's still time to apply to join us for the full season of experience connection and inspiration... #wxo #wxocampfires #worldexperienceorganization #culturehouseimmersive #immersive #immersiveexperiences #experiences #experienceeconomy

September's Extraordinary Experiences invite us to fire up our curiosity. Silly season is over, but don’t despair: this month marks a time to open our minds (and notebooks) and channel that back-to-school energy into creating better experiences. As well as the return of the WXO Campfires next week, the College of Extraordinary Experiences and Stone Soup offer IRL opportunities to swap stories and insights with other experience pioneers. Meanwhile impact-oriented experiences like Colombia’s La Selva, Durham’s Evolution drone show, and teamLab’s Catching and Collecting in the Sea of Life encourage us to reflect on the steps we might take to create a better world. What legacy are you building through your experiences? At the WXO - World Experience Organization, we believe that better experiences lead to better moments and better lives. They have the potential to transform quality of life for all humans on Planet Earth. And it all starts with story. So we're really excited to be partnering with the Masters of Storytelling podcast from BRC Imagination Arts and their new miniseries, How To Shape A Legacy, looking at what legacy truly means and how you can create one that endures through your experiences. In Episode 1 BRC's Director of Strategy, Maya Guice, talks to Senior Writer Richard L. Procter about the unique role storytellers can play in crafting a legacy that matters. It's a conversation we hope to continue with their CCO Christian Lachel at this year's SXSW in our proposed panel Crafting Culture: How Experience Designers Shape Our World. 🍔 You’re supposed to make 35% of your revenue through ancillary, of which food and beverage (F&B) is the lion’s share. At least, that’s what the Rule Of Thirds says. Discovered by Montreal-based Habo | strategic studio, this is a rough guide to the sort of revenue split that leads to success – and a sustainable business. It’s all well and good knowing what you should do… but how do you actually go about achieving this sort of percentage? And if you’ve already got a successful experience, how do you start adding F&B into the mix? This is exactly what Jennifer Crook, lead creator of the World Experience Award-winning Dreamachine, asked the WXO community – so for our final Campfire of Season 10, we decided to host an open Campfire to crowdsource the answer. At the link in comments, discover 9 insights from successful experience creators making real revenue including Nick Moran of Phantom Peak, Los Angeles-based experiential F&B expert Lanné Bennett, Tiago Gonçalves from Portugal’s AM Experience Group, Taylor Myers from New York’s Dead Letter No 9, and more... #wxo #wxocampfire #worldexperienceorganization #experience #experiences #experiencedesign #experienceeconomy #foodandbeverage #ancillaryrevenue #businessofexperience #experiencebusiness
