Meeting with stakeholders is important for any organisation, especially after a general election, when there are always many new people to forge links with. We were delighted to welcome Leeds North West MP Katie White today (Fri) for a visit to Featherbank Forest School in Horsforth. It was created in woodland next to our over-55s scheme, Rosemary Thompson House, which brought much-needed affordable homes for older people to a sought-after area of Leeds. Katie (pictured below left) met with our Director of Assets and Growth, Jo Chambers, who led the on the projects for our legacy organisation Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association. 🗣️ Our chair Andy Wallhead on today's #AutumnBudget announcements: 'Building more affordable homes is key to both ending the #HousingCrisis and boosting economic growth in #WestYorkshire and across the country. 'This comes at a time when around 90,000 households in our region remain in urgent need of housing. 'We’re pleased to see the £500 million in new funding for the Affordable Homes Programme in today’s Budget. It’s also welcome news that Right to Buy discounts are being reduced so that thousands more social homes remain in the sector for future generations. 'But to achieve the affordable homes needed across #WestYorkshire, we need a new long-term strategy and delivery programme with a significant increase in guaranteed funding for social housing over the next decade.'
