HoloLens 2 Discontinuation: Shaping the Future of Mixed Reality Microsoft has announced the discontinuation of HoloLens 2, with support continuing until 2027. Released in 2019, HoloLens 2 became an essential tool for industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and engineering, providing hands-free mixed-reality solutions for enterprise use. However, the decision to halt production signals a shift in Microsoft's strategy, with a growing focus on its military IVAS programme and partnerships with Meta. While there's been much debate about a possible HoloLens 3, this now looks very unlikely.
