This week's Yes to Life Radio Show is “Support for Children” - with guests Rob Verkerk PhD & Jo Gamble. Beyond those directly affected, few people are aware of the immense challenges and obstacles that exist to providing science-based holistic therapies to children with cancer. The legal framework surrounding the scenario of a child with cancer mean that once a diagnosis of a life-threatening condition is made, parents are no longer the arbiters of the best course of treatment for their child. Furthermore, the limited freedoms that do exist for a consenting adult to choose their own treatments do not apply in the case of a minor, creating a dangerous working environment that most practitioners have chosen to stay well clear of. YES TO LIFE ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2024 - 28th September  “PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES” Get your tickets for the early bird price of £35 for our in person conference in Central London on September 28th. The title is ‘Pushing the Boundaries’, as we have decided to devote the Conference to looking at the latest developments in Integrative Medicine, across the board. So that includes new techniques, new scientific understandings, and new applications for existing therapies, and you’ll be hearing fresh insights from some of your most trusted clinicians and scientists, and led into unfamiliar territory by pioneering speakers who may be as yet unfamiliar. We can't believe we're coming towards the end of August! Our next Book Club meeting is a week later than usual due to the public holiday and will be on: Monday 2nd September, 4.30-6pm We'll be discussing the rest our own Yes to Life book - The Cancer Revolution; Integrative Medicine, the future of cancer care. It's packed full of resources and information on Integrative Medicine and is written by Patricia Peat and 37 international experts and contributors. The Cancer Revolution represents the fruition of a long-held dream to pull together the best information on the broadest range of approaches to cancer; to introduce the public to a revolutionary way of looking at cancer: Integrative Medicine. It is hoped that this book will act as a catalyst for individuals to empower themselves, to discover strategies to improve their prospects and quality of life and to become part of a revolution that promises to change the experience of cancer treatment completely. This revolution, Integrative Medicine, has the power to cut deeply into the devastating survival statistics and the desperately poor quality of life experienced by many following treatment for cancer. Jane McLelland is winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2019 ‘Amazing Women Global’ for unsung heroines. Awarded for Jane’s work educating and helping cancer patients since 2003. Jane trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist, gaining a distinction in her exams and winning the Sarah Leeson Memorial Award for the most promising student. After qualifying she worked in the NHS and private practice for 12 years specialising in Neurology and then Orthopaedics when she left the profession to pursue more entrepreneurial endeavours.
