The UK's Integrative Cancer Care Charity, empowering people to make informed decisions about their cancer care options.
About us
Who we are Yes to Life empowers people with cancer to make informed decisions about their cancer care options. Rooted in almost 20 years of experience working with people with cancer, we know it is vital that everyone seeking options should be empowered to make their own health decisions. We also believe in the benefits of a positive approach. Of course, a cancer diagnosis is frightening, but instead of talking about ‘victims’ and ‘battling with disease’, we feel that forward-looking optimism is crucial. We have seen the realistic hope that results from gaining access to information, and from being empowered to explore your individual needs and make your own choices to manage your condition, as you see fit. Our role is to help people to decide what they want to do to help themselves – by providing information and referring them to qualified experts – and then to support them in their chosen path. Yes to Life empowers people with cancer to make informed decisions about their care options. For almost two decades, we have provided evidence-based information to those in need.

An integrative approach to cancer care, combining conventional treatments with such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, with Integrative Medicine (lifestyle and complementary therapies), to broaden patient choice, increase patient engagement, improve quality of life and extend survival. A holistic perspective, aims to enhance the body's natural defences and improve overall well-being. Key elements of this approach can include: 🔸 NUTRITION: Emphasising a diet rich in anti-inflammatory and nutrient-dense foods. 🔹DETOXIFICATION: Reducing the body's toxic burden through various means. 🔸STRESS MANAGEMENT: Incorporating techniques to manage stress, which can impact immune function. 🔹PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Encouraging regular exercise to support overall health. It’s a ‘best of both worlds’ scenario that has its roots in the patient perspective. Historically, it’s been an ‘either/or’ situation between conventional medicine and other approaches, which has often placed patients in an extremely difficult position at one of the most stressful points in their lives. 📕 The 36 page booklet was the idea of Melanie, who came to us with the amazing idea to create a booklet with information on integrative cancer care options based on "The Cancer Revolution" book. Melanie explains more about her inspiration for this Booklet: “The inspiration for this booklet was borne from the frustration that I felt in trying to find out how to help myself. This information should be available to everyone who’s diagnosed with cancer, without having to invest precious time and energy. So with the help of Yes to Life, this booklet was created to start you on a journey of self-help and discovery, should you wish to go down this path. I truly and whole-heartedly hope that this booklet gives you the power to own your journey, and the inspiration and courage to live a healthier and more fulfilled life after diagnosis, regardless of your prognosis. Statistics are statistics, not fate. Do something for yourself and take back some control; empower yourself as you travel through one of the toughest journeys life has to throw at you. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain”. Dagmara Beine is a parent who has ensured her daughter, diagnosed with cancer tragically young, has become an exceptional survivor. To achieve this, she has taken a deep dive into the science of Integrative Oncology, enabling her also to now share her findings with other families facing similar difficulties in the form of a new book, 'A Parent’s Guide to Childhood Cancer: Supporting Your Child with Integrative Therapies Based on a Metabolic Approach.’ This is a genuine ‘first’ emerging into an ongoing disaster in which, as the incidence of cancer in young people is rising steeply, parents and children are being “wildly underserved” by conventional healthcare services. This new book makes a bold beginning towards addressing this situation by collecting together a broad range of well-researched resources for all the main challenges that families are likely to face following a child’s diagnosis. Listen to the show on the link in the comments. Wow what great feedback! 😀 This event was a fantastic opportunity for me to raise awareness of repurposed medicines, hosted by Yes to Life, an outstanding charity who provide integrative support to cancer patients. I loved meeting many of you in person, there were some amazing stories in the room of people who have been stage IV and who are now in remission. Awesome!! 😍😍😍 The video will be available for purchase in a couple of weeks. Knowledge is power!!
Attended by several hundred people in London and around the world, "The Repurposing Revolution", a hybrid in-person and online event featuring the legendary author and cancer survivor Jane McLelland and Neuro-oncologist Dr Michael Castro, was an enormous success, prompting hundreds of questions and a barrage of messages of appreciation from delegates. Videos of the talks will be available to purchase shortly, for those who didn’t buy a ticket.

One of the primary benefits of incorporating juices into a holistic cancer care regimen lies in their nutritional richness. Cancer treatment can often take a toll on the body, affecting appetite and nutrient absorption. Juices are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, providing a concentrated source of nourishment that is easily absorbed. This is particularly crucial during times when individuals may find it challenging to meet their nutritional needs through solid foods. Antioxidants, present abundantly in fruits and vegetables, can play an important role in holistic cancer care. These can help neutralise harmful free radicals in the body, which can contribute to the development and progression of cancer. The anti-inflammatory properties of certain juices align with another key principle of holistic cancer care. Chronic inflammation is recognised as a contributing factor to various diseases, including cancer. Integrating anti-inflammatory juices into the diet becomes a strategy for creating an internal environment less conducive to cancer growth. The immune system, the essence of the body's defence against cancer, also benefits from the holistic inclusion of juices. Fruits rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits and berries, contribute to immune-boosting properties. A robust immune system is essential for identifying and eliminating cancerous cells. 📕Our new book "Nurturing Wellbeing: A Juicy Path to Cancer Prevention” is available to buy as an ebook and paperback. Written with Britt Cordi PhD from Britts Superfoods the book has lots of information about the nutritional power of juicing, how juicing can help with holistic cancer care and cancer prevention, plus there are many juicing recipes. Mind-body medicine – or psychoneuroimmunology, to give it its scientific name – is a young science, but one that has made rapid progress from the realms of ‘woo’ through to a ’soft’ science, and is now standing on the findings of biochemical lab research. We now have the beginnings of an understanding of how deeply intertwined our thoughts and emotions – indeed our spiritual wellbeing – are with our physical health, and how, if we are looking for the best treatment outcomes or are facing an existential threat, we would be unwise to ignore this crucial aspect of our health and wellbeing. Listen to this week’s Yes to Life Radio Show “Mind-Body Medicine” with guest Dr Sam Watts about powerful ways to heal via the link in the comments. Dr Sam Watt’s book “The Ayurvedic Approach to Cancer” is due out early next year and if you pre-order you get access to his course “The Science and Secrets of Survivorship” - find the link to pre-order in the comments.
