ONE MILLION POUNDS RAISED TO SUPPORT OVER 25,000 CHILDREN ACROSS YORKSHIRE 🌟 We are so excited to share the news with you that we have raised over £1 million at A Night Under The Stars. The kindness and support of everyone in the room, and in the lead up to the event, has ensured that we are able to support over 25,000 children in Yorkshire living at a disadvantage. As a charity that’s less than three years old, raising this phenomenal amount is unprecedented, but the need has never been greater. The percentage of children living in poverty has now risen to its highest level in over 20 years. One in three children now live in poverty, with the highest prevalence of childhood disability found amongst the poorest regions. Setting a target of £1 million was always ambitious, but as a charity we believe that we owed it to our children who cannot advocate for themselves to be so. A million thank yous will never be enough to let you all know how grateful we are for your support. 💛

We're working with incredible charities and organisations to support the #GreatYorkshireBuild project, which aims to re-build, re-fresh, and re-energize SEND facilities across #Yorkshire 📍 Construction will begin this month at the Rotherham-based school, which currently lacks adequate therapy rooms, wheelchair-accessible facilities, and portacabins used as learning and therapy space for their 135 SEND pupils. Working with the Yorkshire Children's Charity and contractors and construction workers across the industry, our team are currently producing a comprehensive bill of quantities document to support the tendering process for the £3.5 million project to transform Hilltop School. The transformation, which will be followed closely by the BBC SEND Help documentary team, will see the school completely reconfigured, featuring a specialist rebound therapy space, three new classrooms, and provisions for key learning equipment: https://bit.ly/4dZtwPz

Next week the Yorkshire Children's Charity team will be in a warehouse sorting, picking and packing thousands of coats, pyjamas, bedding and shoe vouchers, and we need all the pairs of hands we can get!! Whether you can do a full day(s), half a day(s), or even just a few hours, we would be so grateful for your help. You'll need to wrap up warm because the warehouse is a bit chilly, but don't worry, we'll sort an endless supply of tea, coffee and snacks...plus we'll be bringing a bit of early festiveness 🎅 Last month we raised £1m at 'A Night Under the Stars' - it's now time to distribute this support to thousands of children and their families but we can't do it without you. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! 🌟 We're looking for volunteers to help us pack at our warehouse next week based near Wetherby. We're taking on our biggest Winter Support Campaign to date, and will be supporting almost 2000 children by providing warm coats, pyjamas, school shoes, bedding and other essential items - and to get all of these from the warehouse to the families and schools we are supporting this year, we're hoping to call on the kindness of our amazing supporters. Any time you're able to give from the 4th-8th November to come and help us picking, packing, and fulfilling these support packages would be greatly appreciated! Urgent call out for children's winter coats. 🔔 We are right in the middle of our Winter Support Campaign which provides children and young people with coats, school shoes and other essentials to get through the colder months of the year. Due to unexpected demand, we are trying to find stock for 141 children's coats aged 9-14.
