What a brilliant night at the Young Rail Professionals (YRP) Annual Dinner in Cardiff! Rail Media was honoured to be the Media Partner for this fantastic event and to sponsor the Young Rail Personality of the Year award. Congratulations to Kelsey Pasfield of c2c (Trenitalia c2c Ltd), who won this well-deserved award, voted for by the audience on the night! Congratulations also to all the winners, highly commended entrants, finalists, and shortlisted nominees. We truly have an industry full of great people, you all deserve this recognition. On a personal level, stepping onto the stage to present this award was a challenge I never thought I’d take on. Public speaking doesn’t come naturally to me, but last night, I faced that fear and did it. It might seem like a small achievement to some, but to me, it was a big step in my personal growth. A huge thank you to Bonnie Price and everyone at the Young Rail Professionals for organising such a successful event, and well done to Gareth Dennis for his superb hosting and to Andrew Haines for delivering a great keynote speech. A special thank you to Molly Jean Crowther for working diligently with me on the media partner aspect of the event, and many congratulations to her as well for winning the YRP Volunteer of the Year award. One final thank you goes to all the Rail Media guests: David Taylor, Tony Kearns CDir FIoD FPWI, Adam Razzell, Wayne Smith, Feli S., Samantha Heron, and Paul Brewer. And just like that, after a year of work from myself, Molly Jean Crowther, Martin Halligan CEng AMIRSE MIET and the fab team from Grapevine Event Management Ltd, the 2025 Young Rail Professionals (YRP) Annual Dinner and Awards has been and gone. The effort was all worth it - it was a fantastic event and I was incredibly proud to receive so much positive feedback from everyone who attended, from YRP colleagues through to industry senior leaders. Leading this has definitely been a career highlight In particular, it was great to see a strong Welsh presence at the first Annual Dinner in Cardiff - this feels like the culmination of six years of hard work to establish a firm footing for YRP in Wales. I'm really pleased Transport for Wales is embracing YRP and had such a strong presence - big thanks to James Price, Geoff Ogden, Elle Elliott and Colin Lea for coming along to support, and Katie Harris Assoc CIPD (she/her) and Katie Williams for pulling together the table. I also want to thank Rachel Heath FIRO FPWI, Emma Osborn and the Network Rail Wales and Borders team for coming along, sponsoring our Employer of the Year Award and being incredibly supportive on the night

Our team had an amazing evening at the Young Rail Professionals (YRP) Annual Dinner & Awards 2025 in Cardiff last night!
