Research from Police Scotland and Young Scot highlights the pressing concerns young people in Scotland have about personal safety, hate crime, and violence against women & girls. Key findings include: 📌 70% of young people have concerns about safety, with those in lower-income areas feeling even more vulnerable 📌 Poverty significantly impacts feelings of safety, with 23% of young people in SIMD1 areas feeling ‘not safe’ 📌 Understanding rights plays a crucial role in encouraging young people to report crimes and seek support By addressing these concerns and ensuring young people know their rights, we can create safer, more inclusive communities.
