Since launching our partnership with Olio • Share More, Waste Less, an app that helps local businesses reduce food waste while supporting communities in need, we've already redistributed the equivalent of over 5,000 meals to people who need them most. After a successful trial in 10 stores, we're excited to expand this partnership to 30 of our food stores and our Warwick Head Office 🍎 Since 2019, we’ve reduced our food waste by 21%, but now we have set ourself the ambition to achieve a 25% reduction by the end of this year. We want to say a big thank you to all our colleagues, members and partners at #Olio who have worked hard to support this initiative👏 #DoingGoodTogether #FoodWaste #Cooperation

As we approach the end of Black History Month we wanted to share some of the activities and celebrations our Inclusion Allies and colleagues have been up to throughout October: - Decorated the canteen with African and Caribbean flags for representation and appreciation. - Enjoyed a weekly Black cultural meal for colleagues to try new food and bond over Caribbean and African culture. - A Black History Month quiz with a draw to win a Black cultural hamper. - An exciting video with our Black colleagues discussing what Black History Month means to them and why they are proud to be Black. - Guest speaker sessions from inspiring professionals provide insights and tips to our colleagues. - Our Co-op Childcare nurseries have engaged in ‘Black History Month activities’ with our Little Pioneers. As Black History Month comes to a close, these celebrations remind us of the importance of honouring Black heritage and strengthening our commitment to inclusivity within Your Co-op all year round. #blackhistorymonth #blackhistory #bhm

It was a day to celebrate our wonderful practitioners who work incredibly hard to make a difference to little lives everyday! Here are a few of our favourite pictures!🥳 #nationalpractitionerday #hollywood #redcarpet

Today, as part of our support for the The Human Trafficking Foundation’s #AntiSlaveryDay, we are celebrating our ongoing work with Bright Future Co-operative. Founded in 2020, Bright Future Co-op has helped more than 80 survivors of modern slavery find employment opportunities and has over 30 businesses as members. We are proud to have been one of the founding members, playing an active part in collaborating with charities and business to provide work placements and opportunities, with our chief values officer, Pete Westall and Senior Legal Counsel, Sean McGovern sitting on the board. Modern slavery, in any guise, has no part to play in our Society and we will continue to do all we can to raise awareness of the issue as we work towards a fairer and more ethical future for all. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g5tHQ22 #EndHumanTrafficking #Cooperation #DoingGoodTogether Anti-Slavery Day - 18 OctoberAnti-Slavery Day | Anti-Slavery Day – 18 October Anti-Slavery Day was created by Act of Parliament to raise awareness of modern slavery and to inspire people to eliminate it.

Last year, we reduced our energy usage by 11% compared with 2022. So far this year, we are delighted to have reduced that by a further 7%! Sustainability is at the very heart of everything we do as a Society, meaning our more than 700,000 members know that every time they shop with us, they are helping to build a fairer, more sustainable and ethical future. A huge thank you must go to all our colleagues and partners who have helped us reach that figure 👏 #DoingGoodTogether #Cooperation

With Sunday being the World Heart Federation's #WorldHeartDay, we wanted to celebrate the incredible work that’s been done by our colleagues to help us install 43 defibrillators at our stores over the past year. We have been working in partnership with The Community HeartBeat Charity for many years now to help us learn more about how to use the life-saving equipment. A huge thank you must go to the Trust, as well as our remarkable colleagues who have worked tirelessly through fundraising and training to help to bring essential defibrillators to our communities.
