Earlier this year Zest installed first of 2,500 new electric vehicle chargers in London Borough of Hackney, as part of one of the country’s biggest rollouts of EV charging infrastructure. The charger at Follingham Court was the first of 830 lower power chargers ideal for overnight charging scheduled to be installed this year, with another 670 following by 2026. 1,000 freestanding chargers capable of charging at between seven and 22kW - enough to top up an #EVbattery in a few hours - will also be installed during this time. The new chargers were commissioned at no cost to the Council, which used its procurement power and expertise to partner with the private sector to get a network that is right for Hackney. With 10% of chargers going on estates and chargers spread evenly across the whole borough, this project delivers fair access to charging for all residents. Zest is funding the programme, providing and operating all 2,500 new chargers. ⚡ 💡 Two days on from the B Corp Festival, we’re reflecting on some of the key takeaways. One of the core messages was to adopt a movement mindset. B Corps strive to act as a force for good, but what good will look like 10 years from now is uncertain. As I'm approaching my 3 year Zest anniversary, I'm reflecting on 3 years ago and how far we - and I - have come in such a short space of time. In the summer 2021, I was on maternity leave with my first born, Oscar, who started school last week! I had a call with my old boss Paul Ford MBA CMgr MCMI who said he was joining a company that wasn't a company yet, but has a huge growth ambition; did I want to join him?! I had an interview with Robin Heap and was offered the position on a part-time basis and joined 'Zest' which wasn't actually named Zest until the first few weeks of me joining, along 7 other employees. I also joined 3 months pregnant with my second child, Daisy! Employing me part-time, whilst pregnant is something I will always be thankful for - they believed in me and the impact I could bring within the first 6 months of the business. Zouk Capital LLP announced it's investment to Zest in October 2021 and our website became live. ..I am going to post a series of these, and I'm calling it 'The Diary of a CPO'..😅
