(Solidus Labs), Natalia Łątka (Merkle Science) and Charlotte Meyer (Deutsche Bank) at Zebu Live - London Web3 Conference for a panel on “Navigating the Digital Asset Landscape: KYC, Travel Rule & Financial Crime in a Maturing Market”. Key takeaways from the panel included: ▶ The Travel Rule one year on: The panel evaluated the effectiveness of the Travel Rule in combating financial crime and discussed best practices for implementation and compliance. ▶ Evolving role of compliance officers: Compliance officers are increasingly seen as business enablers, shaping strategy and advising on product decisions. ▶ Investigating crime on the blockchain: The panel addressed common misconceptions about blockchain and crime, emphasising the transparency of the blockchain and the need for adaptable investigation techniques. ▶ Crypto vs. TradFi: The panel compared financial crime controls in traditional finance and digital assets, discussing the challenges and opportunities for institutions integrating digital assets. 💪 It was fantastic to see an all-female panel of experts, showcasing the diversity and talent within the industry. Last week, our Chief Risk Officer, Anoosh Arevshatian, took centre stage at DAW discussing all things custody, tokenisation and the co-existence of digital and traditional assets. On Wednesday, Anoosh joined Graeme Moore, Jürgen Hofbauer, Wayne Hughes, and Nicolas Tissier de Mallerais on a panel focusing on "The Future of Securities Servicing: Custody and Tokenization." The discussion focused on: ➡ How custody will need to evolve as tokenisation becomes more widespread ➡ The feasibility of current use cases and the importance of prioritising them. ➡ What the next 5-10 years could look like as tokenisation continues to develop. On Thursday, Anoosh joined Aleck Lee, CPA, Amar Amlani, Kara Kennedy, and Jack White on a panel discussing the importance of deeper integration between service providers and both the traditional and digital worlds. On Tuesday, our Chief Commercial Officer, James Harris, joined Diego Ballon Ossio, Laia Bertran Manyé and Lex Sokolin on the ‘Intersection of Digital Finance and AI’ panel at the Future of Digital Finance Conference, hosted by Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) and Clifford Chance. Moderated by Thomas Hawkins, the panel discussed the transformative impact of AI on digital finance and explored: ▶ Current use cases and the benefits of using AI both personally and professionally. ▶ The implementation of trust mechanisms and possible regulation to manage risks, including understanding where information has come from, concerns around false information and the importance of managing risks specific to the financial markets. ▶ What future implementation could look like and, given the constantly evolving nature of AI, how to plan for a world in which it plays a significant role. #ZodiaCustody #GBBC #CliffordChance
