Chief Financial Officer

SF Executive have been retained by a prolific mid-market PE house to find a commercially astute and communicative Chief Financial Officer for their portfolio company in Berkshire.

The business has turnover of c£30m and a strong conversion of revenue into EBITDA.

Big plans are afoot to scale the business through a combination of organic growth and sensible M&A - we will then be into a sale process which could see a secondary PE deal or potentially a trade exit.

What we need is a very robust FD or CFO that has already proved themselves in a standalone product led business - you will not just want, but need to be the right hand to the CEO and want to stand shoulder to shoulder with them in running the business. You will be comfortable around customers, suppliers, providers of warehousing and logistics solutions and also be au fait with the opportunities and headaches that a company managing large swathes of stock can have. This could be in a distribution / wholesale, FMCG or manufacturing sense - we're happy either way.

Ideally you will have led some kind of transaction previously or maybe been a PE FD reporting to a PE CFO in this kind of exit scenario.

The role has a requirement to spend time at the Berkshire site but also to spend some time at the company's offices further north - this probably won't suit someone who is looking to spend most of the week at home - we need someone prepared to do the hard yards in being present to help drive the business forward.

For the successful candidate there will be a decent six figure package and also a sweet equity pot that will deliver a high six figure outcome on exit - this could even stretch to seven figures if the M&A activity is completed.
