Corporate Quality and Regulatory Engineer - Europe

We now have the opportunity for a new vacancy of Regulatory & Quality Engineer role at our Corporate Quality facility Europe at Brecht in Belgium. This position will report directly to Global Regulatory and Packaging Lab Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the testing and evaluation of the Qualifications of new products, in order to meet the required quality level and the customer requirements.
  • Work on quality improvement projects lead by our Zero Defects Program.
  • Establish a strong involvement with the development team in Belgium and other Corporate Teams for Quality Awareness and Continuous Improvement, leading to Zero Defects.
  • Execute internal and suppliers Quality audits related to Regulatory and Quality requirements.
  • Follow the Regulatory needs for our products and highlight the relevant changes on our products.
  • Support the implementation of the relevant Regulatory changes in our processes. Make sure that the Regulatory needs are imbedded in the Corporate Quality Documentation system.
  • Lead and support the DoC’s processes (Declarations of Compliances) for the sites and for development products.
  • Perform the Regulatory approval of new raw materials and manage the documentation system.
  • Plan and execute Food Contact compliance evaluations, worst-case calculations, migration modelling, risk assessments and migration testing on new and existing products.
  • Organize and give feedback to all incoming questions (from the sites, from customers, from European Corporate Quality, from development) related to Regulatory requirements.

Education, Work Experience, Skills And Competencies Required

The successful applicant will have a good understanding of products, machines, processes, materials and regulatory requirements for plastic materials and articles. Also s/he should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of Technical skills:

Quality Mgmt. standards (ISO 9000:2015, BRC) – Basic Knowledge Production process statistics (SPC, histograms, process capability, sampling procedures for attributes and variables) – Basic Knowledge Risk Management/Assessment (FMEA, HACCP, other) – Basic Knowledge Other Quality Mgmt. techniques (process flowchart, Ishikawa diagram, Pareto diagram, internal audits, DOE’s) – Average Knowledge Project Management – Basic Knowledge

  • Internal Quality Auditing – Basic Knowledge
  • European Regulations product safety – Basic Knowledge
  • Computer skills (MS Office)– Advanced Knowledge
  • Knowledge of English. – Advanced Knowledge
  • Team player – Communication skills

Location for the role is in the Brecht area of Belgium, therefore relocation will be required.
