Full Stack Developer

Pip Decks Manchester, England, United Kingdom

The Pip Decks mission is to unlock the potential in every individual by making business education approachable, accessible, and actionable. We create toolkits that distill complex knowledge into practical steps, encouraging immediate action and boosting career confidence. Our main offering is the incredibly well-designed and written set of card decks, accompanied by video tutorials, whiteboard templates, and instructional guides. As we bring all this expert knowledge into the digital space, we need your help.

We're seeking a Full Stack Developer to help us build the Pip Decks web application. If you are a self-starter with experience in async teams and are excited to work in the personal development space, this might be a role for you.

Requirements

About you

  • You are a generalist programmer with product development experience on the backend, frontend, and mobile. We don't expect you to be an expert in all these areas, but you should have some experience with each
  • You have had a key contributor role on at least two consumer-oriented web-based software products, each used in production and actively developed for at least one year. Experience with EdTech or content platforms is beneficial
  • You are proficient in writing responsive HTML and CSS that looks good in all the most popular devices and browsers
  • You have experience setting up and managing structured databases, utilizing SQL to handle persisted data efficiently
  • You have developed production applications with JavaScript and TypeScript, and you don't think one of these programming languages should be erased from the face of the Earth
  • You deliver reliable software that performs well even when used in unexpected ways
  • You're comfortable working with ambiguity and proactive in finding clarity, however temporary that clarity may be
  • You think about software changes holistically, exploring how the proposed changes affect the user experience and technical complexity before implementing them
  • You can effectively communicate and collaborate with team members in an asynchronous environment, turning ideas into functional realities
  • You approach disagreements with curiosity and prioritize mutual understanding over making a convincing argument

  • Work from anywhere, fostering a balance that suits your lifestyle
  • Get the tools and equipment you need to do your best work
  • Contribute to a meaningful product with thousands of fans and engaged customers
