JOB PURPOSE


The Regulatory Compliance Officer will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of regulatory compliance for our brands sold globally, this includes formulation, claims compliance, and artwork approvals. This role involves the fast-paced development of new branded products intended mostly for international launch, ensuring regulatory compliance is met within all target markets. This role includes managing a portfolio for international product registrations. The role will involve a high level of collaboration and clear communication across our internal and external multifunctional partners. The successful candidate will be working within the NPD team and reporting to the Regulatory Manager.


This is a full-time position, located in Watford (Greater London), UK.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES WORKING 4 DAYS FROM THE OFFICE AND 1 FROM HOME.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure all cosmetic products meet regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory changes and industry standards affecting cosmetics.
  • Working with the manufacturers to products are compliant with internal vegan standards.

New Product Development Support:

  • Provide regulatory guidance during product formulation and development to ensure compliance with ingredient restrictions and labelling requirements.
  • Review and approve product labels, marketing materials, and claims for regulatory compliance.

International Registrations:

  • Manage a full portfolio of global product registrations ensuring they are complete in a timely manner for markets including UK, EU, USA, and China.
  • Prepare, compile, and submit regulatory dossiers for cosmetic products to relevant authorities in various countries.

Training and Education:

  • Provide ongoing support to the Regulatory Manager on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Attend webinars and seminars to remain abreast on upcoming changes to existing regulations as well as newly introduced regulations on a global scale

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and quality assurance teams to ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into business processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving compliance processes and systems.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and incorporate them into the internal compliance program.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in regulatory compliance within the cosmetics industry is required.
  • Experience with CPSR’s, PIF’s and INCI formation (COPTIS ideal).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cosmetic regulatory compliance
  • Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Excel
