For the first time in Ireland, 6 Farapulse PFA Atrial Fibrillation ablations were performed in one day at Hermitage Clinic. Dr Zain Sharif and the catheterization lab team completed the milestone last week. Commenting about the event Dr Zain Sharif, Consultant Cardiologist said: "We are delighted to offer this service at Hermitage Clinic for our Atrial Fibrillation (AF) patients and have developed an efficient flow that maximises patient care whilst also offering optimised healthcare utilisation. This achievement is the culmination of many facets of the arrhythmia service including the development of a new AF clinic at Hermitage Clinic, the creation of an EP nurse service, support from Anaesthetics team, including the adoption of Deep Sedation avoiding intubation, and Intra-cardiac Echo (ICE) utilisation. Only possible with the support of physiologists and radiographers, nursing staff, directorate, and of course Boston Scientific."
