A two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Alexandra launched the business after identifying a gap in the UK market for bras specifically designed for post-surgery or mastectomy patients. Our annual Start Up Loans Ambassadors programme, now in its ninth year, celebrates inspiring UK business owners who have launched an enterprise using finance from the government-backed scheme.

📣 Announcing our Young Entrepreneur Start Up Loans Ambassador 2024 Blake Bentley, founder of The Scran Man. Blake, just 23 years old, started this all from his grandad’s house in the midst of COVID-19 lockdown until demand grew so great that he felt there was no choice but to pursue it as a fully-fledged business. Now, Blake also showcases cooking skills and picture-perfect food to thousands of followers across their ever-growing TikTok, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

➡️A Shropshire-based cheese manufacturer has secured £1m in debt funding from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund II. 🧀Nantwich Cheese sources high-quality cheese from British and continental producers, supplying a range of sectors from catering and hospitality to schools and hospitals. A chain of gyms in the West Midlands has secured a fresh round of funding to support its expansion 💪 Fitness Worx has received £320,000 in finance from our Midlands Engine Investment Fund II via Frontier Development Capital.
