𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 🌱 Recently exploring Richmond high street, I came across Dobbies Garden Centres ‘Little Dobbies’ small store format ✨ A garden centre brand situated on a high street, to me, is the perfect pairing - and it’s certainly a houseplant haven 💐 Walking into the store, it’s incredibly easy to forget you are on a bustling high street, with a beautiful array of plants left, right and centre However the offering doesn’t stop there: 🌵an array of houseplants, all shapes and sizes - with a buy 3 get 1 free offering advertised throughout 🍄🟫 a ‘grow your own mushroom’ section, potentially inspired by Jeremy Clarkson’s success on Clarksons Farm 🐶 a section for our furry friends, mainly dog toys and small treats (handy for carrying home) ✉️ gifts, books, cards, fragrances, amongst plant accessories such as funky pots and water feeders ☕️ cleverly located at the till, they have a coffee machine, allowing you to fill your coffee need whilst buying a new potted plant (quite frankly, the dream!) I was surprised by just how much they managed to fit in a small format store, however the store layout prevented the store from feeling overwhelming With 6 Little Dobbies currently, it will be interesting to see where the brand decides to open next But this is a great example of a brand tweaking their store format to cater for a high street location ✨ CACI Ltd #locationintelligence #retail #storeformat #sitevisit

⚽ The Euros officially kicks off today with Germany facing Scotland in Munich in what is set to be one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the summer. Here in the UK, fan zones, pubs and bars are setting themselves up for a busy month of football as England and Scotland face teams from across Europe.   With this in mind, what will the impact of the Euros be on our F&B and leisure economy? How many people will be engaging with football at all?    CACI ran a UK-wide consumer panel to try to answer some of these questions and understand the washover of the event across the country. Our findings showed that based on current intention to watch the Euros and our projected average spend, there could be a £389m uplift per game. This means that if England made it all the way to the final, there would be an uplift in spend at pubs and bars of £2.7bn over the course of the six-week tournament.   🖥 We also found that ultimately, most of us will engage in some way, especially younger viewers.    Two-thirds of respondents said that they would be engaging with the football in some capacity. Within the group of respondents that will engage, the largest majority will aim to watch as much of it as they can fit in (42%), with Gen Z and Millennials driving this enthusiasm. By contrast, 44% of Baby Boomers said that they would not watch any of the football. Regionally, it is Scotland, London and the North West that are most enthusiastic about watching as much as possible.    🍺 Pubs can expect a strong uptick in trade, particularly for home nation matches    85% of respondents that will engage with the football said that they would watch at least some of the games at home. Young people aged 16-34 are the most likely to be watching the games at a pub/bar or a fan zone, with a third of all young respondents saying they would do this. Regionally, those that intend to watch the games in the pub are most likely to be in London, the North West and both the West and East Midlands.     🥅 Football is for everyone this year, and the washover will be high    Interestingly, there is little variation by affluence in terms of overall engagement, or in where respondents plan on watching the game. It is likely that pubs and bars around the country will be very busy, particularly for the home nation games.     As always with football, however, the performance of England and Scotland will significantly sway the washover of the tournament here at home. The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) has estimated that if England gets into the quarter-finals of the championship, an additional 8m pints would be sold in pubs and bars per game, which would of course significantly bolster F&B performance across the UK over the next six weeks.   💡 Curious to learn more about how CACI can help you navigate the ever-changing economic landscape in F&B and leisure?
