🎉 Celebrating Excellence in Apprenticeships! A huge congratulations to Jacob Garret, our March Apprentice of the Month! 🌟 Jacob, who is now at Gateway and ready for his End Point Assessment (EPA), has been on his apprenticeship journey since June 2023 with Juniper Training Ltd and Southern Industrial Roofing Limited. Over this time, he has embraced every opportunity, from site visits to external training, and has even taken on a mentoring role for new apprentices. His dedication, growth, and hard work have been truly inspiring. We have no doubt he will smash his EPA and build a fantastic career ahead! Jacob himself shared: "This apprenticeship has allowed me to learn first hand all about the Roof Sheet and Cladding industry. Being able to learn both on-site and in college has prepared me so well! Last week, Mark Pope attended two fantastic events to promote CoTrain - Shared Apprenticeship Service and help connect aspiring apprentices with exciting opportunities in construction. 💠 At the University of Westminster (Marylebone Campus), Mark supported the Galliford Try team, Heather Bryant (Regional Community & Social Impact Manager) and Stefan Sturge (Quantity Surveyor), in engaging with students and applicants interested in projects coming online in September 2025 across the South East. We met some great candidates, and three or four will be shortlisted for interviews for apprenticeship opportunities starting this September! 💠 The second event, hosted by DWP Group Aylesbury, focused on inspiring individuals aged 20 to 53 to explore apprenticeships in Buckinghamshire. It was rewarding to explain the apprenticeship process to a wide range of individuals with different career journeys. With the support of the construction companies present, we hope to secure opportunities for some of these individuals in the coming months. A huge congratulations to Sam Martin, who has been voted Apprentice of the Year 2025 by Morgan Sindall Construction (London & North Home Counties Area)! Sam’s journey started with CoTrain - Shared Apprenticeship Service after impressing on a work experience program in October 2023. Since then, he has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, dedication, and a passion for learning. While working hard on site, he has also been studying at the University of Westminster, where he is on track to achieve his Level 4 Quantity Surveying qualification this summer. Morgan Sindall is already in discussions with him about progressing onto their Graduate Program, where he will continue to develop his skills and qualifications. "My time as an apprentice with Morgan Sindall through CoTrain has been both rewarding and enjoyable, thanks to the incredible support from everyone I've had the privilege of working with. This opportunity has given me a fantastic start to my career, and I am excited to continue growing and progressing toward becoming a qualified Quantity Surveyor."
