It will introduce UK academics in cyber security to the core concepts behind the main #CyberASAP programme and will take place in January 2025 across four days (two half days online & a two-day in-person bootcamp). The Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme provides university teams with the necessary expertise and support to convert their academic research into commercial products, services and technologies in cyber security. Funded by the UK Government Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and delivered by Innovate UK, CyberASAP is now in its seventh year. Building the pipeline for innovative cyber security products & services 🌐 13 projects from UK academic teams joined Viscount Camrose, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology Minister for AI and Intellectual Property, Dr Lisa Hazelden, CPO, Innovate UK and Jon Kingsbury, CEO, Innovate UK Business Connect, to pitch their cyber security innovations to a room full of private investors. With funding from DSIT and the deep expertise of the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, the CyberASAP accelerator has helped to transform university research into successful commercial ventures. There are now more than 100 alumni projects from 77 universities from across the UK💡 CyberASAP has led to the creation of more than 30 new cyber companies, which have collectively raised over £23 million in private investment. Our unique product development process, coupled with sector-specific investor expertise, ensures CyberASAP provides an effective way of commercialising our world-class research base. This year’s cohort has 4 female founders, and we’re proud that there should be No Limits to success in innovation.
