  • As part of its Digital Trust initiative, The World Economic Forum has set out the core dimensions that must be met to rebuild trust in digital technologies.  To establish digital trust, there needs to be a fundamental shift in how technologies are developed. Instead of viewing users as an afterthought, technologies must be built in a human-centred way that protects and respects user interests and wellbeing.  To achieve this, they’ve outlined the following three digital trust dimensions: ✅ Transparency: Organisations should enable users to feel confident making online decisions. They must provide all the information needed for users to remain in control and empowered while engaging online.  ✅ Privacy: All technologies should embed principles of privacy into their design and development, upholding stringent regulations, as well as developing supporting tools and resources for users.  ✅ Redressability: In cases where prevention isn’t possible, it’s important to have harm prevention tools and redress procedures in place. It's also important to have third-party oversight to guarantee any harm is fairly and thoroughly rectified.  #Training #Courses #DigitalTrust #DataPrivacy

  • Why should you measure the effectiveness of your organisation's digital trust? As with anything in business, what isn't measured can't be managed.  So, if you're looking to prioritise and invest in your organisation's digital trust, you also need to put a strategy in place for measuring the outcomes of this trust on your business's finances and reputation.  Outlining clear metrics on digital trust will help you better identify areas for improvement and prioritise your investment alongside your wider business strategy.  It will also help you forecast the impacts of a future cyber-attack and, therefore, improve resolution planning. But where do you start? An essential first step is to understand the difference between metrics that have a direct financial impact on your business and any secondary impacts.  ⚖️ And to create a strategy that strikes the perfect balance of both.  The former includes metrics such as sales, revenue and customer churn, while the latter includes customer satisfaction, net promoter scores or website traffic.  By quantifying and measuring these metrics on an ongoing basis, you can clearly visualise how improvements or investments in your digital trust are impacting your business's bottom line and customer perceptions. • When it comes to digital trust, all roads lead back to people. To fully embrace new technologies and innovation, you can't afford to leave your customers, staff and stakeholders behind.  Often absent from the buzz of a new tool or piece of technology is the human element.  We focus on what a tool can do, the money or time it can save us, rather than what our customers need or how our staff will use it.  This explains why establishing digital trust remains an uphill battle for so many businesses.  They aren't prioritising – or even thinking about – the needs and experiences of the people using or being impacted by the technologies and innovations they introduce.  If your customers and staff don't understand the full process, why a tool is being introduced, how it works, and the benefits it can bring, they're not going to trust you to have their best interests at heart.  Instead, they're going to doubt whether their privacy will be protected or whether a new tool is going to make their role redundant.  And as a result, you're never going to get the most out of the investment.  💡 So, what's the solution? As a business, it's important to bring that people element back into focus.  Invest in technologies or processes that directly respond to your stakeholders' needs and expectations. Include these people from the very beginning of the development and deployment process. • Attention all C-suite leaders... 🔔 It's time to shift from a reactive to a proactive mindset when it comes to digital trust.  Gone are the days when digital trust was a 'nice-to-have' for your business.  With so much of your organisation's reputation wrapped up in its digital channels, digital trust is essential for boosting customer loyalty, empowering your people and staying compliant.  As Divyesh Patel – CEO of Radixweb – says, it's "not enough to address digital challenges ... from a risk management perspective. Now, it's time to adopt an emerging mindset and view investments in digital trust as growth accelerators, not just risk mitigators." Establishing digital trust isn't a box you can tick off once and revisit every few years. It's an ongoing desire to be better and a willingness to learn, evolve and (potentially) fail along the way.  The benefits of continually investing in your organisation's digital trust are well worth it, though. Businesses that are leading the way in digital trust are 1.6 times more likely to experience double-digit revenue growth.  ⌛ So, what are you waiting for? It's time to move digital trust up the priority list. • It’s logical to assume that cybersecurity and digital trust require highly specialised individuals and teams. But the reality is that these siloes might be exactly what’s holding you back.  Improving your organisation’s digital trust involves several business areas, including (but not limited to) IT, compliance, legal, marketing, and customer experience.  All play critical roles individually, but they must also work together cohesively to ensure the best business results and outcomes.  By creating a comprehensive, collaborative strategy, you ensure that digital trust is built and maintained consistently across all arms of the business.  Matters of digital trust and cybersecurity exist far beyond IT departments. So, establishing a cross-functional team will help you to identify gaps and vulnerabilities and further increase your digital trust.  Want to improve your organisation’s digital trust but don’t know where to start? • The winning formula for digital trust, transformation and ongoing business success.  Faced with increasingly complex cybersecurity threats, data privacy concerns and an influx of new technologies, your organisation’s digital trust has never been more important.  But, as with most things, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.  To help, here’s a simple, 6-part checklist for building maturity, resilience and trust across your digital environments: ➡️ Prioritise your cybersecurity – Establish a strong foundational strategy for protecting your data, digital assets and systems.  ➡️ Build up resilience – Identify gaps in your digital infrastructure and work to minimise or remove any vulnerabilities from disruptions and threats.  ➡️ Adhere to privacy regulations – Do whatever you can to respect and protect the privacy of your customers and users, keeping on top of all emerging legislations.  ➡️ Act ethically and responsibly – Uphold responsible data practices and clearly demonstrate to customers that you have strong ethics at the foundation of your business.  ➡️ Focus on transparency – Be open and honest about your digital plan and any changes you’re making, allowing stakeholders to better understand your business and how they’re impacted.  ➡️ Stay compliant – Ensure you meet (or exceed) all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards, and stay aware and agile in the face of any new ones.  #Learning #Training #DigitalTrust #CyberSecurity

  • The foundation of effective and ethical AI use: transparency. As AI continues to take the world (of business and beyond) by storm, we’re seeing an increasing need to ensure it’s being used responsibly and with minimal potential for harm.  Critical to keeping AI tools ethical, accurate and fair is to put transparency at their core.  Transparency allows users to be more aware about where they’re getting their information from and how much trust they should put into AI tools.  If you’re going to trust a piece of technology to engage with your customers or analyse your data, you at least want to understand how its algorithm works, where its data comes from, and how it makes its decisions.  Here are two examples of transparent AI done right: ✅ Adobe’s Firefly generative AI toolset openly shares all the data used to train its models and, to help users avoid copyright issues, comes with an assurance that all images are owned by them or taken from the public domain.  ✅ Salesforce shares when its AI tools aren’t 100% confident in their responses – highlighting data or information that users will want to double-check before hitting send or publish.  We wish we could say transparency was the norm for all AI tools. But the truth is we’re not there – yet.  So, watch this space.  To find out more about the importance of transparent AI and examples of it done well (and wrong), read more here: https://lnkd.in/eBMBfjh4 #Learning #DataGovernance #DigitalTrust #AI
